I think this is terrible - I have been paying £25 per month but now it's saying my monthly payment will go up to £39 - I only do this deal for the gym and can't really bothered with all the other stuff. I have enough to do! After offering this great deal to entice new customers they are suddenly changing their system. Not impressed at all and seriously thinking of cancelling membership.
Can you not get up to Platinum status in time?0 -
Pru are changing the way thier vitality/gym thingy works. From Nov it will no longer be calculated on the ammount of visits to the gym but on vitality points meaning that if you currently visit the gym twice per week and pay nothing (on a bronze or silver vitality status) you will pay £14 per month! Add this to your pru-membership fees and you are looking at £45 per month easily or a 50% increase!
Pru have not informed anyone of this and i noticed today by chance whilst on thier site.
PLEASE Anyone with hints, tips etc to get around this post now!!0 -
PLEASE ADVICE ME
I had a fitness test at my gym months ago, meant to be worth 300points but I did not receive any vitality points for this. This was over 3months ago now, is it too late to raise the issue? I didn't really care before about missing points but that would take me a long way towards platinum before the new changes come into force. Infact, I would hit it if they credited it - WHAT SHOULD/CAN I DO????DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -

Get as many points as possible in your policy to get you status up to platinum, also making sure you still get your 26 visits in the last quarter. Anyone that can't get up to platinum status before November should re-think this, find out what the insurance and gym will cost and when you reach the cheapest rate. Anyone can cancel now as they have changed T & C, if you do this phone up to day and write recorded delivery, also tell them you wasn't notified of the change.0 -

Firstly get a copy of your assessment from the gym then call Pru to let them know points not recorded, ask them for their fax no and send it with a covering note asking for the points to be put into your acc. People should keep a close eye on the points now they are lower from nov..
Edit: The fax no. is 0800 015 2974 - mark it Vitality points team, they might not accept it if they don't receive it within 45 days of the event, an easy way of getting round it is having the gym re-do it0 -
Thanks you two
Will get a copy of assessment on Wednesday (before my pilates class). Will phone up Pru tomorrow afternoon and get their fax number in readiness, hopefully I can get it faxed to them from the gym which would save me paying £1 at a newsagent! Hopefully everything will go to plan and then I only need to make 200 more points before November to hit Platinum. All ideas gratefully received! Have maxed out my ebay points and would need to buy a million fruit & veg from sainsuburys to get anywhere (do you think I could buy shedloads of the stuff and then get it all refunded lol)
Finally, I have to say that I think a lot of the info on mse was the undoing of the current scheme. We knew there were pru employees (active & lurking) in here but still we let rip about all the million ways to get round the system. The worst thing is I genuinely love going to the gym and and attend 3-5 times a week but now none of that will ever count, not that it will stop me getting my sweaty groove on in spinDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
Have just read about the new changes on the PruHealth site,and just wondered if anyone knew;
I am currently Silver Status in my first year of membership, and understand how the changes will work, however I have also just read that vitality points are reset at the end of each year, with a small % carried over. Does this mean that at the start of each year, you revert back to Bronze status?? If so, this means that for the first part of each year, a higher membership fee will need to be paid until Platinum is reached.
Does anyone know anything about this??0 -
