Just to remind you though that only one gym visit a day gets points.
If you did a 2nd visit in the same day you wouldn't get any additional vitality points for it (I can't remember exactly where it says this but i definitely remember reading it somewhere)MS Stalwart. Thank you TenaciousD :beer:and Zebedy, very helpful to get that individual response. I am going for a free trial on Monday and then I'll see if I really fancy it. I'll also give Prudential a ring to ask them some more questions about it.
Does anyone remember how long it takes after you join Pru health (via Quidco of course) online and then how long it takes before your Gym membership becomes active and you can start collecting Vitality points?0 -

I will be glad if they change the gym so it is free for platinum members regardless of how often you go - yes I am a platinum members.
No I am not just being selfish either.
At the moment if you go regularly (2+/week) you should make platinum anyway and so will still get it free.
If you make platinum other ways (like me) you end up getting stung if you don't go often enough, which under the new system you will not.
Losers will be those who go gym regularly but have not been members long enough to build up enough points to make platinum.
But for current memberrs, potentially a winner for more people than it will be a loser for!0 -
well i got 770 points for my 2nd fitness assessment - 50 each for maintainng BMI and blood pressure and 670 for improving fitness 3 levels
weird. no 300 for just going though.
So now platinum. I have managed to go to the gym about once a week so this new scheme may work for me better, also ordered a fitbug, shall have to see how much the gym and insurance renewal costs next time (currenly £25 for the gym for occasional user and £23 for the health insurance)0 -
I would disagree that this change makes it a worse deal, i'm already a platinum member having only signed up 6 months ago and getting there was really easy.
Going twice a week to the gym gets you half way there (1050 pts), twice yearly free fitness assessments do the rest. (600 pts for the 2 assessments and 400 points for either maintaining or improving body fat/bmi/fitness rating - which shouldn't be too hard if you are going to the gym twice a week).
If this doesn't do the job there's also easy points on offer for reading (opening!) online self-help articles, creating on online healthy eating plan and doing an online stress test, even just for signing up online - none of which require any financial outlay.
Now that i'm up to platinum 25% of the points get carried over making it even easier next year! PLUS my monthly fees should go down to around £6 per month when I renew!!!!!2014 – Le Creuset utensils, DVD0 -
I can't understand for the life of me why Martin said that the changed deal is worse...it's sooo much better! Finally we are free from the tyranny of having to swipe into the gym twice a week just to get free gym. It's incredibly easy to become a platinum member...just go for a couple of fitness tests at the gym and 'read' a few articles on the site. The next year's premium will then have 100% of last years premium taken away from it...I pay about £2/month to get free gym and things like overnight Champneys visits for £35. The only annoying thing about the last deal is having to constantly go to the gym every week to swipe in whether it is convient or not (I love doing exercise outside the gym so it, but the old deal effectively discouraged me from doing this). The fact that Martin thinks that the new deal is worse must mean he is not taking his own advice and living the pru-health dream himself...
Off to Champneys for £35 on Friday, courtesy of Pru-health - yay!

Hi,
Where do you find out about these cheap deals (Champney's, Eurostar etc). I've had my pruhealth policy and canons membershio since April now and am very nearly a silver mamber (see sig.) and desperately trying to get to Platinum before Nov 1st (don't have a sainsburys which doesn't help).
However I don't really know anything about special dealsMS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0 -
Champneys is a current Vitality Partner and you can find out about the deal by looking at the Vitality Partners on your online PruHealth account.
Eurostar is not a Vitality Partner YET, but soon will be - it's been announced in the press etc.
Neither Champneys nor Eurostar will get you any extra Vitality Points. You simply qualify for heavily discounted rates with them, depending on your Vitality status.Operation Get in Shape

I'm platinum member, done enough gym so no need to pay for gym next quarter (Aug - Oct). If the new system begins from Nov, do I need to go to the gym next quarter?:D0
