WARNING!!! Some of these deals don't actually include a free gym membership. If you have an existing Pru deal, check what is on offer for your gym first!
I go to the gym at least twice a week, so I phoned to find out if I could cancel my current insurance then re-join with the new deal. Some gyms are free, but my Virgin Active one is a whopping £40 extra for the first 3 months until they reassess how often you go - then it's £15 a month. That averages out £21.25 a month, rather than £15 a month as stated in Martin's article.0 -

Hi Suze23,
Almost all gyms on the Pru list are free, Virgin Active being the exception to the rule (because they are very nice and more expensive), however in most cases its still only £5 a month. The exceptions being a few ultra posh ones in poshest parts of London and possibly one in manchester.
I'm guessing your from a posh part of London?0 -
I just joined again and it tracked in Quidco - wonder if I will actually get paid though as I got cashback last year in August.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Hi,
Sorry if I am being dim - but I followed the link from Martin's article to PruHealth ..... they asked me a few details, but only about where I live and then told me my LA Fitness membership would be £20 - now is that on top of my PruHealth Fees, inwhich case I thought LA were supposed to be free - or is that the price for my PruHealth, in which case how did they calculate that as they asked no health questions?

If you join with a joint membership with two adults do you both get free gym membership?0

Is it just me? I have no qualifying gym within 5 miles of my home. When I did a 10 mile search it came up with LA fitness only. I don't even live that far from London. The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0

Is yours saying tracked or validated? Mine is showing as validated but I am not sure what that means.DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -

They ask how many times you will be going to the gym, that is how the calculate the gym cost.DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -

Yes you both get the gym membership offer.
Another good thing with joint membership on the Pruhealth vitality side of things is that with a Single membership you need 1000 points to move from Bronze to Silver whereas with joint membership you need 1500 (750 each). If both of you go to the gym 2 x per week or more though you should reach Platinum with ease.
Platinum = 100% of this years unclaimed premiums off next years premiums.
So ideally next year your gym membership will be free and your PMI premiums less than 10% of what you pay this year!!!0 -

Sorry to be dumb, but if they have platinum status won't they be paying nothing?
Oh, I think I get it. What they paid last year is just deducted from their renewal price, which will go up. So, it's not possible to pay absolute zero?0
