Im still unclear as to how the introductory thing works, Martin says you pay the full rate until they can work out your usage so how much would this be and after that what happens? Do you get reimbursed the money you shelled out or are the other payments lower to compensate.
Also what are the points and how do you earn them. Sorry if im being ignorant but this is very confusing for me!0 -
Just wondering like some of the other posters how it works, what are the payments that you will pay?
You pay the insurance DD's
then you pay the activation fee at the gym, then you pay the first 3 months at the infrequent usage?0 -

Basically you will pay £25 per month for the first 3 months.
From then on every 3 months your usage is calculated. If its 2+ times per week on average then your next 3 months is free. If your usage is 1 per week then you pay £25.. If your usage is 0 times per week you pay the full rate.
No there is no reimbursment or lower premiums to compensate. Practically free gym membership with a PMI plan is very good though!
You do not have to submit anything, as every time you swipe your gym card it will automatically be sent to Pruhealth.
There is a big list and many many different ways to score points. At the moment i am nearly a gold member (75% of all unclaimed premiums knocked off next years + cheaper deals) and will easilly be a platinum member (100%) by my renewal date.
Scoring Points - I.e. you need 2000 for platinum 1500 for Gold or 1000 for silver.
Platinum could be for example:
Register online : 50 Points
Non smoker: 150 Points
Health Screen: 200 Points I can get you free health screen
2x free fitness assesments: 600 points
Gym 2x per week 1040 points per year
TOTAL 2040 points = platinum member

£25 activation fee.
Then £25 per month for the first 3 months.
Your usage is then calculated every three months. If you have been 2 times or more per week then you pay 0.00 for your gym membership (unless Virgin and then its £5). If you have been less than 2 times its £25.
Yes you still have to pay your insurance subscriptions. If you want me to work this out for i need the following info:
Age:
Are you Obese?:
Smoker Status (smoked in last 3 years)?:
High blood pressure (after medication)?:
High cholesterol (after Medication)?:0 -

Hi,
My question is can I have two healthcare providers?
I have pre-existing medical conditions and these are covered (at least in part) by a BUPA policy.
Can I set up a Pruhealth policy as well just for gym membership? Will this invalidate my BUPA cover?
(I'm already a member of LA Fitness with a good deal, so would have to see if the BUPA deal saved me anything anyway)
Thanks
In theory you can pay for as many healthcare providers as you wish. It will invalidate absolutely nothing.
If you have pre- existing conditions it depends on what they are, as to which form 'undewriting' is best for you.
If you can answer YES to the following 3 questions then you may as well look to cancel your Bupa policy and just 'SWITCH' to Pruhealth:
SWITCH = When you move from an existing healthcare provider to another without any NEW exclusions being added despite past claims/conditions.
1. Are all members to be added under 70?
2. have all members never suffered from Heart Disease, stroke, Cancer or mental Illness?
3. Have all members to be covered EITHER:
NOT made a private medical claim for £350 or more in the last 3 years?
or
been fully medically underwritten in the last three years?
********
FULL MEDICAL UNDERWRITTING - if you can answer 'NO' to the following 4 questions you can start again from scratch with Pru with no exclusions:
1. In the last 5 years have any applicants been treated for, diagnosed with, or advised that they have the following? Heart Condition or Stroke, Cancer or Tumours, Joint problem for which the applicant may need a joint replacement, mental illness? YES/NO ?
2. In the last two years have any applicants been hospitalised or recieved surgical treatment(excluding emergencies, pregnancy related treatment, removal of appendix or gall bladder, removal of wisdom teeth, removal of tonsils and sterilisation) YES/NO?
3. Does any applicant take on going precribed medication (excluding contraception, hormone replacement therapy, short course of antibiotics< medicine for high blood pressureor high cholesterol where the condition is controlled by the medication, and allergies?
4. In the last 2 months have any of the applicantshad any signs or symptoms that may require them to visit a medical proffessional, or are any applicants awaiting any reviews, treatment or investigation for any current or past medical problems?0 -
Dunce, how did you manage to get such a low quote? Sorry for being nosey! Are you under 21?
I signed up for this tonight through quidco and hope it tracks alright. It says on the pru website that my application shall be reviewed over the next few days and they will let me know if it has been accepted. I set up my DD online though so I do hope it gets accepted and I hope it has tracked through quidco.
I went on Topcashback (I am a devoted quidco member) after signing up and saw they were offering £155!! £40 more than quidco but I am not complaining as I have saved so much money through this deal or at least I will be. I am getting a year at the gym for less than a month's childcare cost!
I signed up for a free month in June at my local LA Fitness and I loved it there and really wanted to continue my membership and now I can. Thanks Martin. MSE rocks my worldDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
Can someone tell me if I've got the math right here?
My premium would be £20(ish)/month. So for the first quarter I'd need to pay £20/month premium + £25/month gym membership = £45/month? Then after then I'd have to pay £20/month premium + £0/month gym membership = £20/month?
Now say I eventually get 2,000 vitality points. This time next year I'd be paying £0/month premium + £0/month gym membership = £0/month?0 -
On another note I'm thinking the way this deal works is along the similar sort of lines that a mobile cash back deal works. That is they make money out of lazy people.
This is a good deal but Pruhealth are here to make money, not give everyone free gym memberships. I bet they've worked out a percentage of people will sign up planning to go to the gym at least twice a week then will get lazy and stop going. It is these people that will then subsidise the people that do stick to the plan then suck anything up to £70 a month out of them.0 -
All those numbers make my head go funny
The first part is spot on but the part where you get something for nothing sounds implausible :scractheshead:
Maybe someone with 'the knowledge' could answer this part -DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0
