  • A further watch out for LA Fitness users: I joined over a month ago and have notice that several visits have not been recorded. This is partly due to them not properly setting my membership up to start with, but other unrecorded missing visits are not readly explainable.
Of course it is our responsibility to ensure that a visit is recorded (per Pru's contract), but I'm not sure what is expected beyond getting the card swipped and hearing the machine beep. I have emailed the Pru to advise them that I shall be less than impressed if failings on the part of LA Fitness end up costing me (by falling below the 2+ visits per week required for free membership)

    Hi,

Can i ask an odd question? When do Pru take your first months premium? Is it as soon as you sign up or at the end of the first month? I want to join straight away but dont have enough money til end of the month pay day!:o:D

  • Hi peeps.
Just a quick question. I took the pruhealth free gym for 6 months offer via quidco and now my free membership is up. I am on gold status so i pay £20 a month gym and £18.59 pruhealth. What is my best course of action?
I imagine it is to get platinum status so i pay near to nothing in my next payments to pruhealth. Any help wld be awesome

    Thanks

I joined on the 1st of this month and my first month's payment is due in a few days so I think you should be fine. The gym however will take the activation fee immediately from your debit or credit card.

    hi woodyrocks!
im planning on signing up with pru to my local LA fitness, i have a few questions which the pru were unable to help with, if u dont mind :)

how long after u signed and paid the fee on the LA site till u could use the gym?
WHen u sign the LA contract do you have to give them your bank details?

Did u have to pay for the locker key, or anything else besides the £25 on their website.

    Thank you.

Hi Adam. Once you have paid the fee on the LA site. Print out the form noting your customer no' and take this in with your Pru membership card to begin your membership. So, in theory assuming you have already received your member pack from pru and you deal with LA site tonight. You can start using the gym tomorrow!

You fill in your contract as normal but your bank details are noted as 33333 and xxxxx. I have a copy of my contract in front of me to verify this. I obviously made sure to remind them that I paid Pru not them when they first mentioned contract!

And lastly, no, I did not have to pay for a locker key and did not enquire about this.

If there is anything else you need to know just ask away. If I can't answer it I know my fellow mse'ers can :)

    p.s welcome to MSE!

I received a DD mandate from Pru today informing me of £25 to be debited from my account in a couple of days.

I had a slight panic and phoned them up immediately but remembered as soon as it was mentioned that there is the casual fee charged for the first 3months whilst usage is calculated.

Heads up incase anyone else freaks out upon receipt!

Hi Woodyrocks, has your 6 months free membership ended now? Are Pru switching you over to the new scheme automatically then?

My 6 months finishes soon, but I'm not sure if i'll have to wait until March next year before I can switch to the new scheme?
