:j Just seen this same offer but with the oportunity to gain triple nectar points if you sign up via Nectar eStores online they are claiming this is worth 15,000, (I reckon 1,000 is worth £10 so not to be sniffed at) in the same email for those interested also offering 6,000 points for signing up for SKY TV through Nectar eStores.

  • Just wanted to say how much I LOVE this site, Martin - THANK YOU!

I took advantage of the offer in March so got 6 months free at Cannons and £115 Quidco cashback which I recently received in my account which means for 6 months my gym membership has worked out something like 85p per month (and I get health cover too!)!!

My question is, now that Pru are offering this new deal - do I need to do anything?

According to Martin's article, it changes automatically to the new model at renewal?? Is that correct?
I go on average 3 times per week so this new model sounds fab! :T

Got a call back from pru health and was told as i applied online and not by phone or through an email link that I am not eligible for the JJB vouchers afterall. Anyone been told the same?

Yep - signed up mid July and saw the JJB £100 voucher logo on their website. No mention of vouchers after that. Spoke to them today and they say I'm not eligible, but couldn't tell me who would be eligible or why they were advertising at the time I signed up. :(
  • I am soon to be heading back to Loughborough Uni where they have an LA Fitness gym. I have been quoted between £20 for basic and £31 for complete insurance with Pruhealth. I am a regular gym user (currently 5 or 6 times a week) at my local gym which costs me £30 p/m. Now, as I understand this offer I have to sign up with Pruhealth (at any cover level) and then get into contact with them and ask them to sign me up to the Loughborough LA Fitness gym. Now, assuming I maintain 3+ visits a week (bar holidays when I will be at home) I should only ever have to fork out for the medical insurance. So my TOTAL annual expenditure will be £372 +£25 gym induction fee – is this correct? As a student I don’t want to be forking out loads on hidden costs and if the final price is comparable to joining a local gym I see no reason for joining a local gym. Whilst there are excellent facilities on-campus with such a large (and sport orientated) student body the facilities are often packed and with my heavy lecture schedule an off-campus gym close to my digs is far preferable.
  • Just reading up on this at the moment....

I would like to sign myself and my partner up through the web so that we get the cashback, but we would like to be able to use any gyms rather than just one. Is this the default membership package? How would I go about doing this?
Slowly reducing my 8.5k of debt!
  • Martin said in his original article that pruhealth don't tend to enforce the 12 month membership contract if you want to get out of it early. Does anyone know if that is still the case or have they started cracking down on it?
  • Is it possible to get both the 15,000 Nectar points and the £115 from Quidco?

I don't think it is, which leaves going via Quidco as the best option as far as I can see. Looking at the other moneyback sites I cannot see anybody offering more than £115 now? (somebody did comment there was £155 on offer at one point)

From the past comments do people now think the JJB vouchers have finished or can these be claimed with a new application?
  • i signed up for pru health mid july for cover to start from 1st August. I've had confirmation off DD instructions from 'em but still no members pack... how long have people had to wait for members pack? i wana join the gym!!! cheers
