  • Also a tad off topic with the current issues, but has anyone booked Chapneys through pru? If so, does it include food or is it purley room and activities?
Thinking of taking the wife there now we are at platinum.

    Hi Simon,

    Yes,

There is nothing really to add good or bad to what has already been said on my part unfortunately. I have a table of changes from pru from the meeting which i can't seem to post a link to on here, but not through lack of trying. Pru won't send me it in pdf form so i've scanned it (i've had to do this as photo .tif) but i normally upload it onto scribd which won't let me upload photo's... only documents.

As you can imagine i've been quite busy explaining these changes to many a not too pleased Pru members which isn't the nicest of tasks. But i've just got to get on with it.

Anyone got any idea's how to post it as a link on here? My computer technical skills are very basic. If not I can email to you if you pm me your email address.

Its nothing to get too excited about by the way. Its not factual, its promoting their new way of doing things. Which is basically what happened in the meeting i.e. i had my objections and questions about what they are doing and they absorbed them and then tried to get me excited about their new way of doing things. Which i am not. But they haven't taken this decision likely and we are probably not going to change their minds unfortunately.

I can only tell you so far what i have been told verbally in my previous post. However the people first effected will be those renewing in January 2010. So Pruhealth are going to have to send these people letters informing them of the changes and hopefully i will be able to get hold of a copy and copy and paste the universal section that applies to all of us on here.

I suspect it will be similar to the letter Scott recieved from Pruprotect who seem to have sent letters out very quickly informing their members.

Also Pruhealth are going to have to start promoting their new way of doing things and that means suppying sales/members brochures to us independent advisers. Again i will post what i can.

Yes my wife loves it. For platinum members. Its £35- £40 each for a standard room including all three meals and a complementary massage.

Or £45 for Superior room where you get a slightly better room plus champneys slippers and a robe and mineral waters. (retail £219 per person per night)

You get free use of gym, swimming pool, saunas, steam room etc. Extra treatments you have to pay for. You check in at 2pm and although you need to check out from your room at 11am you then stay for lunch and can still use the facilities, robes, swimming pools, lockers, towells are provided.

There is a £30 supplement if you book Saturday night and another supplement if you book their flagship hotel 'Tring'.

The ladies seem to to love it, so good for a treat and to to score brownie points and its all very nice and very relaxing.

Log into member zone, select my zones, then select vitality and you should see the champneys sign on the right hand column.

  • This is terrible. I will not be renewing in January as I have lost confidence in them.

  • unfortunately I think it is threads like these that has made the deal almost too popular and leading to pruhealth tightening its belts to get more money.

  • You could be true.

The worse thing, I cannot find any other offers to reduce Nuffield gym membership by or more than the 25% offered by pru so looks like I have no choice but to stay with them.

I actually enjoy going to the gym twice a week and with the kids doing well in there swimming lessons there, its just a cost burden I have to take a hit on.

How much does Nuffield gym membership cost?
  • Mines £53 a person at Nuffield Wesy Byfleet. We did have joint with pru and if we had joint at Nuffield, its a saving of £5 on total cost.

If Pru charge us the £53 each- which at the moment they cannot tell me as I am bloady surprised they have not been able to get a corporate rate, then with discount, its £39.75 per person.

We can get life insurance elsewhere and cheaper, but not the gym costs.
