PruHealth obviously don't want to retain their customers with those terms. All sticks and no carrots.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
i deffo will not be renewing.
In a small way im glad really, im expecting our first child to be born March next year (1 month before policy expires)
I was going to ignore the fact i could claim £100, in favour of retaining 100% discount following year, ill be claiming then cancelling now!!
Are they trying to make the whole reason for been Platinum the cinema passes ect?!0 -

I am a health insurance adviser and i added my wife onto my policy after being told exactly the same thing by Pruhealth via the broker chanels.
My renewal has come up and although i've got 100% off my 12 months, my wife joined 1 month before my renewal and she has only got 100% off the 1 month. Despite me being told she would get 100% off her annual premium by Pruhealth.
So although she is still very slightly better off than if she started from renewal its not what i was told.
I have asked when this ruling came into effect and was told its always been the case!
I have a meeting today with Pruhealth at 2.30pm which i am putting both my own questions and the questions of my clients to them to see what can be done about this.
I will report back to this board sometime tomorrow.
Please let me know if you have anymore. I have quite a few already though.
Hi Silver Surfer,
Just wondering what you were told about the renewal reward / discount with regards to adding a partner during the year.
cheers

Hi Michael,
Unfortunately they are telling me that its always been the case that if partners were added one month before renewal they can only get one month's 100% of last years premium off next years. If i was misinformed they are sorry but there is nothing they can do about it.
I have responded by cancelling my Pruhealth policy from renewal and taking out a policy with National Friendly instead. I still get the free gym through the Pruprotect vitality until renewal next year.I am a independent health insurance specialising insurance broker. At this rate, I think maybe a thread needs to start about ditching pru health/pru protect and finding alternatives that give cheaper gym discount.
Really annoyed how they have handled the whole thing with the gym. yes, there is the other benefis which if you use them are god value but the gym is quite a bit part pf going to pru.
I know Bupa give gym discount, going to see if they cover Nuffield and how much - unless anyone nows.

Ifyou sign up to Medicash healthcare cash plan, you're entitled to some discounts off gym costs. These discounts are not generous and are little more than corporate rates to some gyms, but might be of use- about 10-15% off in general. In London a number of smaller gyms, also Fitness First and Esporta participate. If you PM me a postcode I'll be happy to check any discounts in your area with my website login (I'm a current customer) but I wouldn't get too excited. I also wouldn't particualrly rate Medicash.
On a tangent, anyone signed up to a Classic Virgin Active?0 -
I joined in July and haven't taken out the gym membership yet as I'm waiting to be platinum (should be in approx 2 months).
Have I basically just wasted all my time and money thinking I'll be getting a free gym membership when I reach platinum when really I'll only get a 25% discount?0 -

yes it would seem so. big con isnt it:mad:QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -
No, actually, it's not as bad as that (unless I've misread/misunderstood the changes) - if Charliezoo joined at the start of July and will be platinum in 2 months-ish, let's say by the end of December, he(?) will get full gym discount from the time he hits platinum up until the end of his policy year (so six months from January to June). It's after that point that the existing benefits will no longer be available.
