Well spotted, I did not notice that, its good to see MSE actually have some teeth and have taken action to keep the advice on MSE neutral and free from advertising.
The no PMs must be why he rergistered with the NOTPMI user name.
Its quite telling that no he is unable to tout for business that he does not take the time to come on MSE and help people now there is no money in it. Its a shame he doesn't come back on and give unbiased advise now he has been censored as he could no doubt help other MSE members0 -
Getting back on topic...
Have had a Fitbug for a week or so now. When attached to an ankle it can register steps when cycling, but it doesn't register the steps very accurately. My 20minute / 5mile commute registers <2000 steps which is a little annoying as I'm not getting adequately rewarded for this exercise IMHO. Polar heart rate monitor isn't an alternative because the journey is <30mins each way.

Hi All,
I have just signed up to PruHealth - mainly for saving some money on La Fitness Membership fees.
However, looking at their website, Vatality partners => LA fitness => it seemed that from 30 September 2009 onwards, you will have to pay £30 even you are a Platinum member?
Am I missing something here?0 -
Hi Inspiring,
I can't see where it mentions that - am I looking in the right place?

Ah, I do apologize - I went to pruprotect.co.uk instead
Being googling too much - that lead me to the wrong site :cool:0 -
Just to let you know that with a bit of careful planning, I've reached Platinum status with a month to go on my policy.
I've now joined Virgin Active for £15 a month.
I don't think I particularly busted a gut to get there, otherwise you could do it a lot more quickly. I filled in all the online questionaires, bought a few things on Ebay, got a fitbug, and shopped at Sainsburys (which I do anyway). Did a basic health screen (free with Boots Health Insurance), flu jab, pap and 2 free fitness tests at my local gym!
I would highly recommend booking a day pass at the gym of choice before signing up (although you can cancel at anytime after the first month) just to make sure that it's what you expect.
Anyway I thought I'd put some feedback as I scoured the forum before I signed up and it was a valuable resource...so giving back0 -
Hi all,
I just got myself and my husband a Fitbug each and was wondering if anybody knows if 'non bug activity' counts towards our 10,000 steps?
We did an hour of cycling today which equates to 17,000 steps when added as a non bug activity but it's not showing on my pru points.
Finding 10,000 steps nearly impossible otherwise0 -
scrap that question
just found this
"Only steps recorded by your Bug counts toward your Vitality points"
I know it makes sense as it would be easy to cheat otherwise but I put a lot of effort in today0 -

You can attach the fitbug to your ankle or trainers (securely) and then clock up steps as you cycle. I attach the 'safety' strap to my sock and attach the bug to the lace crossovers and then tie the bow around it. Seem pretty secureon a 5mile 20min commute i get around 1500-2000 'steps', which seems to correspond well to an average cadence of 60-80 revs/min.
