Pruhealth gym loophole Article Discussion

Seeing as you just joined here yesterday, (minutes after JEB posted his question here), you seem to know a great deal about the way PMISpecialist breaks the rules of this forum by using it to advertise, abuse the pm system, and generally bring IFAs into disrepute!
His latest trick has been to try and abuse the referrer's board for spam advertising and using different board names to spam - though those posts/threads have all been spotted and deleted.
And it's an amazing coincidence that you both have just disconnected from this forum within a minute of each other!
You sure you aren't trying the same game here?0 -
just to put another MSE slant on this, the missus and i have been with Mark Warner a few time and last may was over £1800 for 1 week with our 2 kids (san agostino)
The missus wanted to go again in June but for 2 weeks - i was gobsmacked at the cost, current "last minute offer" is £3776 half board eeek! However as we are platinum members we have just paid £2347, a saving of £1429!!!! :T
Ok, not everyone want to go with mark warner, but it fitted in with us. And that discount is enough to pay our family health insurance (£100pm) AND virgin gym (£8pm each) membership for a WHOLE YEAR!!!! WOHOO!!:money:0 -
Sounds wonderfull! I've been eyeing up the Mark Warner holidays (40% off for pruhealth platinum members) for a while, from what i've been told they are usually to a very high standard. I didn't think it would apply to last minute deals either, just the brochure price.
Would you reccomend this resort? Clean, nice food, good pools, beach etc ?0 -
It looks like the original "man with no shame", (Rio Ferdinand), has a competitor for his title.0

We are going to lakitira this year, been to san agostino before (twice), but it was great and expect the same. Both have good sandy beaches, but relatively secluded resorts so not close to towns etc for exploring so maybe a downside for some, we just want to lay around, play with kids, but have our own time to do some sports/eat/drink!
Not cheap, but its not a "brits on tour" package. A good mix of couples, families and small single sex groups mainly there for excellent sailing/tennis. The accomodation is good - we had 2 good sized beach front bungalows, cleaned every day/aircon, with ajoining doors for the kids last year, great as they could wander onto the beach to keep themselves interested. Lakitira has been refurbished so expect it to be better accom., again joining rooms for the kids with sea views (beach apts. fully booked unfortunately) in that price.
You can do as much or as little as you want, lots of activities including free sailing/tennis lessons, 2 big pools with life guard in the family pool during the day (the other pool is adults only),volleyball, water polo, fitness. I like to do a bit of sailing and they have everything from picos to twin hull cats to windsurfs to peddalo's. The staff who look after the boats are all !!!!!! hot sailers too. Tennis, again we just borrow the kit, knock up a few games each day, they have competitions if you want. Its virtually all inclusive so, no paying for sailing/racket hire, sun loungers/shades etc - I've been to places and spent 10eu a day on shade and 4 loungers, adds up over 2 weeks!
Food is pretty good for buffet - the head chef usually walks around checking and asking guests if everything was ok. The resort manager was always around too. The food does get abit the "same-ish" after a week so will be desperate for a curry when i get home! They have more than 1 restaurant so you can mix it up and the evening meals involves bbq's and greek grills, lots of meat!
HTH - We would of booked anyway so the 40% off the current price is just brilliant for us :T0 -
Thanks Cheeky.
The Mrs normally deals with our hols. I'll suggest she looks at this one. :beer:0 -
We've booked to go on a 2 week MW holiday to Kos in June, can't wait!
2 weeks half-board in a Superior Double Room for £640. Half board is even more VFM at the moment when you consider the exchange rate and the cost of going self catering/eating out.
And yes the 40% discount for platinum members seems to be off whatever price they hold on their system when you ring up !!0 -
They closed the loophole last year (around November time).
There was some discussion at the time:

Thanks very much for the responses (whoever they're from - not sure what's going on there!).
I'm now not sure whether this is for me. I'm not actually that keen on getting health insurance, I just thought this might be a good way of getting cut-price gym membership with the health insurance thrown in as a bonus.
If I'd have to pay normal gym prices, I'm not really that interested.
I'm sure when I heard about the scheme a while ago it worked out cheaper than just joining the gym in the normal way - was I mistaken? Or has it been changed?
This IS cheaper, although not immediately. I too joined just for the cheap gym.
I've been a member for seven months and Im now at Platinum level.
I pay c.£25pcm for health insurance (young male) and £25 for my Virgin gym membership (all clubs in UK except the prestige ones). Normal cost would be £85ish per month.
In the first months of joining, it was more expensive (as wasn't at Platinum level yet) and was paying more like £25pcm insurance plus £39 a month gym. But you can quickly progress to the high 'vitality levels', saving a lot of money.
Also you get 'extras' - I got Euro* RETURN trip for £10 a few months ago and I've bought an annual Cineworld card for £45. I'm genuinely delighted by PruHealth, it's absolutely excellent - I'm not at all associated with them or anyone but it's a great deal. (I hope I'll never want to use the insurance!)
I spoke to PMISpecialist to sign up who I would also totally reccommend.0 -
If I got the Fitbug and a Polar HRM. Would I be able to get 15days vitality points with fitbug and 15 days with polar = poss 10 points per device? As long as I used them on different days of the month?
Was thinking of wearing the fitbug to work, As I walk a lot on a usual day (but probably wont get my heart rate up to 60% doing so)
And then using polar when running (as I want to monitor my heart anyway)0
