• I have been playing with a spreadsheet and depending on how many times you goto the gym a month, if you pay for a roadtohealth checkup - it can be cost effective as that amount may save you a months gym membership. Plus, buy a few sporting goods off ebay and you should be plat in no time.

We have also bought fitbugs just in case we dont reach our monthly gym quota for points.

• HI

I have a goal listed under vitality thats "Access my fitness".

How does this goal work?

Do I need to literally sign up to the gym and auto get 50points per person as this goal is triggered by the gym membership?

Thanks

• Ok - sussed it and worked out how to get to silver within 3 days of registering without spending anything. Note - this is for a joint but can be worked out for single if necessary,

Register 2 x 50 = 100Declare non smoker 2 x 150 = 300Fitness Assessment 2 x 300 = 600Create meal plan 2 x 50 = 100stress assessment 2 x 50 = 100vitality review 2 x 100 = 200reading articles 2 x 30 = 60cholesterol screening(male) 1 x 150 = 150
Add a Goal of fitness (must have accessment) = 2 x 50 = 100

and thats 1710 points.

Worked out the fitness goal as cannot see it mentioned anywhere, as long as you get a fitness accessment.

Now, if the female has a pap test, and you pay for 2 x basic health checks at Roadtohealth you will be at gold and have 2260 points

if you do this within say 2 weeks, and note, dont wait for Pru to auto add the points. I have been emailing them at Pruprotect_Team@pruprotect.co.uk and attaching scanned in copies of fitness its getting addded within a day.

Now, if you get to gold, sign up for the gym, you only have to get a further 740 points.

Max a month you can get easily is 360 (gym visits and reading) and that basically over 2 months you can get 720 points, thats leaving you 20 points.

Buy something off ebay sporting goods for a £5 in total inc delivery (I did this last night, bough some swimming stuff for £3 with 2 delivery) and its been accepted.

You are now at Plat. Ok you laid out for some health checks but if you factor in the fact this saving reduces you gym costs and gets you to plat asap, it saves you in the long run.

• They've only just changed it and nothing on the web I can find about more changes.

Anyone know anything more?

I note that the next time 16th of the month falls on a Monday is in February. Somebody mentioned - either on this thread or the other one - that they'd heard the gyms were raising their PruHealth prices in February (which IMHO is fine as long as it's roughly in line with inflation).

However it would be weird to change gym pricing mid month so it's probably something else, if true...

• Be interesting, if they are changing the gym prics which is fair, if those on Plat still get them for free or mostly subsidised depending in which area you are in.
Hmmmm.
