Hi
Anyone know, if you book a Boots Health check, whether or not you can claim the fact they did a cholesterol check as separate set of points.
I assume boots do the basic health check for £25 and so thats 200 points but if I can get the cholesterol as a separate check, thats an extra 150 and will save me having to blag the doctors to get it done.
Cheers

Reaching platinum is easy. I'm three months into my second year and already have 1700 points.0

woolly22,
No, although your points are reset at the start of each policy year, whatever status you reach in each year of your policy is retained throughout the following year, until such time as your points that year exceed your previous year's status (if you were lower than Platinum, that is) at which point your status immediately increases.Operation Get in Shape

Just to clarify, you mean policy year so if your policy starts in Nov, your policy year is from Nov > Nov.
If so, phew. Just signed up for PruProtect and all being well will be Plat in 4 months if all goes to plan as I want my gym membership free.

Yep, your Platinum gym rates will kick in the month after you've become Platinum (though do bear in mind that because the gym fees are billed in arrears, if you become Platinum in say February, the first time you get billed at Platinum price will be at the end of March).
As your policy year ends in November, and you'll be Platinum long before then, this means that you will (1) get your maximum reduction to your premium in the following year (I've posted earlier in this thread about how this is calculated) and (2) retain Platinum status (and therefore the lowest prices for the gym and other Vitality partners) for the whole of Year 2. Obviously you still need to be building points up in Year 2 so that you're Platinum again by the time you go into Year 3.
Just to clarify: I was Platinum going into Year 2, am still Platinum now even though I only currently have about 800 points in Year 2, and the little status bar on the top right of the page when I'm logged into the PruHealth website now says "You need 1200 points to MAINTAIN Platinum" - i.e. for my next policy year.Operation Get in Shape
