Frugal Frump to Fab - The Journey Continues

Good morning all and a nice big welcome to all our lovely newbies.
Some fantastic fabbing going on.
Maman - I am still managing my "mini moustache" with plucking at the moment, however, waxing is fine and won't increase hair production. Waxing, will over time, weaken the hair and making it finer and weaker.
I did go through a phase of waxing when the hair growth was stronger but I don't need to now, plucking the odd few rogue hairs is enough at the moment.
The problem with facial hair is that it does increase and get coarser post menopause, the reason is hormonal of course.
I would chose waxing or preferably still sugaring (ask your therapist about this) if my hair growth was sufficient.
Sorry not posted much but have had a very busy week - have just about got Dad's paperwork and form filling under control - for now:eek:
OH not too good - he sleeps a lot now. When he is awake he is still compus mentis and fully alert but I would say he is probably now sleeping more often than he is awake. At least he is comfortable.
Nice easy weekend planned, a bit of shopping, a bit of decluttering and spend some time with my boys.
Have a good weekend.0 -
Second session of C25K completed last night. In some ways it was harder and in other ways it wasn't. Anyway one more session and then I move on to week 2
Bought myself some clothes yesterday, two skater style dresses, a tunic, a pair of cropped jeans and a couple of cardi's (navy and black).
There are so many gorgeous dresses out there, T3sco have a lovely selection. Now if the weather would just get a bit warmer......
Had a quick sort through my wardrobe, put the winter clothing at the far end and grouped together my summer dresses, tops and skirts. This is probably as organised my wardrobe is ever going to get :rotfl: but at least I can see what's what.
Frustrated at not being able to find a lightweight coat to wear. I don't want something that looks like I am going to walk the dog in it but none of the shops or supermarkets have anything other than blazers  Not be if we are in the height of summer yet
Whinge over, off to have a nice shower before I blow the cobwebs away walking the dog in this stiff breeze
Have a great SaturdayI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Its fab and has made such a difference to my long wavy hair.
The hair oil I use is the one with the gold top, usually cheapest in Asda

What if the Hokey Cokey is really what it's all about ?0 -
So i got on the scales midweek like a dummy and somehow seemed to have gained back all the weight I had lost. So I had one really naughty off plan day in depression but went on this morning and I've lost another 1 - 1 1/2 lbs so I'm nearly 5lbs down in 2 weeks which isn't bad is it
I've been having trouble sleeping all week so majorly slept in today but I feel human again yay0 -
Good Evening
What can I do about dark circles? I do not eat salt, sleep at least 8h at night and I currently use Touch !clat which works to a degree. I have always had dark circles and it is starting to bother me more and more so any suggestions would be welcomeTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Dehydration can make them look worse ( I suffer to) and I think as does stress as the 'quality' of sleep may not be there. So lots of liquid and lots of green veg.i also take a good multivitamin.
I use Clinique eye cream with a tint in it, which sinks in and you'd never know but helps- I have also tried no 7 one too. Do not be put off by colours, honestly they are great.
Then I only use the concealer where I am dark not all the way under the eye.. Makes a big difference too. Check out Lisa Eldridge videos on her site for better explanations.
Good luckx

Thanks for the tip. I'm about to need a new eye cream. I've used Clinique often in the past but never one with a tint in it so I'll give that a go.
I agree dazed and confused, 5lbs in 2 weeks isn't half bad!:TOne tip I'd suggest (and I know it's not easy;)) is that you're strict with yourself and only weigh once a week. Try to make it the same time of day and wearing similar clothes on the same scales. Otherwise all the perfectly normal weight fluctuations will make you feel really miserable if it shows a gain.
Thanks for the heads up about Tesco clothes bitsy. I never shop there for food but usually go once a year as they're often good for swimwear. I'll take a trip.
Very dull day here. I'm looking forward to a nice roast later, you'd think it was winter!0 -

I have horrendous dark circles they are really purple. If I sleep badly I look like I have a black eye quite often.
I have recently bought this

The yellow one on amazon
I put that on first then normal concealer over the top. You only need a tiny bit and it's quite greasy so I might try the yellow one with the wand applicator next time. The difference it makes is amazing0 -

Is it the 'Even Better Eyes' cream that you use? I don't have really dark circles but could do with a bit of brightening especially as I don't like wearing too much 'foundation' type products around my eyes and in the summer I just tend to wear a bit of bronzer.0
