Teacher How about displaying your things? My friend used to have hooks for jewellery on the wall and shelves for shoes and bags which was lovely. Vacuum packs are also great as others have mentioned so you can pack away your winter/summer thins when not in use.

Noah Thank you for those sites, I have book marked them for when I am trimmer :D

Bitsy :j for getting started, sports bras are never easy :rotfl:

Maman I have tried slimming world and the meetings were really not for me however tonight I have dug out the books and I am going to give it another shot. What I did find was that my shopping bills shot up so any advice on following the plan affordably would be great. I will have a read through the thread on here too.

Well last night I did the full skin routine and I looked better when I woke up this morning so that is motivation to keep going. I could't get a hairdressers appointment so I will need to pop that in for next week.

My friend and I are having a night out at the end of May so I have set that as a target to loose another half stone. This is day two of no sweeties/processed sugar and I feel ok, not as grumpy as I thought I would be :rotfl:

Tonight I am going to give myself a mini manicure, exfoliate and moisturise as well as the usual skincare. Then I am going to sit and go through the slimming world info :D

Rummer, I find the 'happy clappy' aspect of SW hard and consultants are of variable quality. Mine is 'nice but dim'. I keep going because I've met some lovely people there and it works!! I shop mainly in Aldi and fortunately have the time now to cook almost completely from scratch so I don't find it expensive. Do come over and browse the SW thread, they're a friendly bunch and loads of people on there go it alone without going to class.

    Hi all,

I need this thread in my life!
Recently I have been frantically googling on how to make myself more glam and yummy mummyish. It looks like you ladies are on the same journey as me :-)

I totally admire these women who look so immaculate and I want to be like that too. Whenever I walk around town I always notice ladies aged about 50-60 and they just look (and smell) fabulous! How do they do it?

I decided I need to glam myself from top to bottom......

    1. Hair - I have been going to the hairdressers for the last 3 months getting my hair lightened from black to golden blonde. I love the colour but I can never get it looking a fraction of how it looks when I step out of the salon. If anyone has any tips on how to do a home blow dry I would be eternally grateful :-)
Also my hair is pretty dry from the bleach and intensive conditioners dont seem to make it any better :-(

    2. Eyebrows - they are a mess. They are over waxed and arent in any sort of shape, one is angular (which I like) the other is like a semi circle :-/

    3. Face - I spoiled myself with some Estee Lauder doublewear foundation, the lady put it on in the shop for me to see if I liked it and as she took off my old foundation she saw the spotty lumpy skin underneath. She asked me what I used to cleanse with. She was horrified when I told her I used baby wipes!
So I got some 2 in 1 Nivea cleanser and Toner and have promised myself I will use it twice a day.....so far so good.

    4. Body - I am currently on Weightwatchers and have lost 11lbs in 5 weeks. 20lb to go.
I have bought some St Moritz fake tan. The problem is I can only do the front half of my body :-/ anyone got any tips on how to do the back?

    5. Nails - finally stopped biting my nails and have grown them for 10 weeks now :-) I am hoping to save a fortune in acrylic nails.

I want to look the best I ever have when my birthday rolls around in August so its all systems go!!

    Happy pampering ladies
    xx

    Hi Tiddly :)

Re your hair - ideally stopping such a radical chemical colour change will help - is there any reason not to consider embracing your natural colour? Also, when my hair was stripped of its several years worth of brunette dye, I found the L'Oreal oil to be a great help and I use it now to smooth out the highlights that I have in my greying mousey hair.

Re the EL lady - she would have been seeing sales & bonus figures in her head, try using the cleanser you've bought but you may find your skin prefers something that isn't combined.

:j:j My weight loss has started again :j:j

After falling into bad habits I have made a concerted effort this week to eat well and move more and I am back on the weight loss journey :D Cutting out sugar for even a few days has reduced my bloat and I feel better already. Hopefully I will be in the next stone bracket my the end of next week :D

Fab Friday today so I am going to straighten my hair, pop on some makeup and choose a nice outfit :D

  • Morning ladies ,
All glamming is a work in progress here .
Moisturising is what I'm focusing on, that and telling myself that I am worth and why shouldn't I look the part ?
Very hard to change a decades of neglect ..but baby steps and all that ..
I also have facial hair not medically related to anything so working on the thought if I can feel it , people can see it .
So I think I'm getting my basics right hoping that I will progress .
Gok is actually coming into work Monday , I meant to be off but going in can't miss this opportunity .
    Have a fabbing Friday ..
I'll pop back later with any updates x

Fab Friday. I did manicure and pedicure last night so now have electric blue toe nails and lovely pink fingernails ;)
Going to wash my hair and put a treatment on later .... My hair is elbow length and ringlet curls but I straighten it. I like to use gloss treatments to boost the shine.
Had a scented bath with candles courtesy of hubby last night which relaxed me. He treated me to Soap and Glory stuff recently so I slathered that on afterwards:p
Just did daily yoga which isn't easy at the mo with both kids lol. DS 10 is at giggly stage about bums and boobies etc....sigh.
I'm itching to clear wardrobe and sort warmer weather clothes out but will have to wait till I have more time!
Today I have full make up on as usual, hair pinned up, nice shirt and scarf on 50s style, fave vintage jeans and old white converse:-)
