Ladies I need your advice re clothes storage. I have zero space. I currently have one warp be which has a single rail and doesn't seem to fit much at all and a large chest of drawers which is mainly taken up by socks, pjs, under crackers and gym wear. How can I maximise clothes storage ina small flat without spending loads of money? X

  • Hello T2B , what about vacuum bags put one seasons clothes in and store under the bed if you can
Also, be brutal and eBay / carboot the clothes that you don't wear like or fit well
Have a look for another wardrobe on freecycle etc put shelves in it and you'll find you could put things like drawer content plus season knitwear in there with shoes at the bottom

  • I'm debating making my own Vit C serum. I've found a great recipe on the internet, and it will work out much cheaper than the one I have been eyeing up, it's just storing all of the ingredients!

I'm not buying much else as I have most of my wardrobe already. I wear a lot of 50s and rockabilly stuff. I have an hourglass figure and for years tried hiding it and wanting a boyish figure... Don't get me wrong I'm
A size 12 at 5ft 10 so not big but very exaggerated curves ... So I decided a while back to go with it rather than hide it.
The 50s style suits curves so I wear 50s women's shirts and bowling shirts, jeans, Capri pants, circle skirts and converse trainers a lot.
I like maxi skirts to keep cool in when it's a hot day.

Where do you get your clothes from? I suit 50s styles for the same reason :D

    :hello:

Just back from a weekend break. Enjoyed it very much but I'm afraid a great deal of time spent eating and drinking! When I've finished having a catch up on here I need to do some bits of shopping for healthy food, especially vegetables!

For those asking, I've had great success losing weight with Slimming World and I've kept it off for almost 3 years. So, I just need to get back on plan and any gains from the weekend will disappear.

All I can suggest, teacher, about the storage is that you look for all possible nooks and crannies. I'm not sure if you're able to put up shelves but we have little cupboards up above doors for extra storage and pretty boxes/baskets on shelves are great for bits and pieces. I've seen pretty drawstring bags (like PE bags) hung on door handles or hooks used for things like tights and socks or scarves and gloves). We also have Ikea's marvellous Billy bookcases going right up to ceiling height and they can take boxes on the shelves too. So what I'm suggesting is that you keep as much out of the wardrobe and chest of drawers as possible. Inside one of my wardrobes I have a small shelf unit on one side that takes everyday shoes. That means half the wardrobe is for long coats/dresses but the other just enough space for jackets and other short things. HTH.

    Back soon.:)
