Need some advice my skin is not very good i am prone to breakouts and have combination skin... i have used all different products but need some hints/tips and on a budget . Also what sort of day/night make up do people wear i look on youtube to get inspiration but don't seem to have the time to do it

    Thanks in advance :)

Hi, I'm new here :) saw the thread title and it was totally what I'm looking for!

I need to reinvent myself. I'm currently losing weight (1 stone in 7 weeks just 2 more till I'm at my healthy bmi range). Started looking after myself, skin care regime sorted. Now I'm starting to experiment with make up. The trouble I'm having is eye make up! I need to find a matte eye shadow/s as I don't like sparkling ones for every day! Does anyone here have any recommendations?

    Thanks!

If you are near a S*perdrug have a look at the MUA eye palettes, they get really good reviews and do not cost a fortune, or have a look at them on-line http://www.superdrug.com/mua-eyes-products-/icat/muaeye?sort=name&sort=release&parentCategoryRef=muaeye&order=asc&order=desc&q=*&type=eyeshadow

See which one you like the look of and then google MUA (name of palette + reviews and read some of the comments.

I recently bought the Pretty Edgy one as the colours attracted me, but haven't used it yet. HTH:D

Hello and welcome :D No advice I'm afraid on the skin care regime as I have normal/dry skin however for the makeup it would be useful to know your hair and eye colour so people can make suggestions :)

Thanks for replying rummer! I have started using myfitnesspal, changed from full sugar drinks to diet, drinking skinny coffees (I feell rather posh ordering in coffee place now lmao no idea why). Stopped snacking on rubbish! I'd go through so much chocolate during a lecture then have lunch then more chocolate, something to eat on the journey home then tea then more rubbish whilst doing work.... And just walking more. I don't have much time for exercise with two kids, university and a house to look after :)

I'll look into MUA E.L.F have 50% of so I've ordered an eye shadow palette to try :D

    Hello everyone... :)

Everyone is doing great fabbing .. Well done :)

I on the other hand am not :( I have just been started on topical gel & anti-biotics for my my spotty face by GP - I'm on day 4 today.. Fingers crossed this works. We are trying to clean out a flat and do it up that a tennant did not look after to sell and to say I'm stressed would be a very big understatement! I've woken up at between 5.30-6 am every day this week :( and doing extra shifts everywhere to try keep going ... BlAh!!!! I feel like my house doesn't look great as focusing energy on other one but you know I only have so much energy...

Anyway enough of a moan!! The sun is out and the weather is great.. Which always lifts your mood :) hope everyone is having a great weekend....
  • Morning Everyone!
Another lovely day ahead I think .
A colleague has asked if I fancy going to a local garden centre .she's only just returned to work this week after a few months bereavement leave I lost my mum last September , seems strange saying that , so we both find our selves with spare time ..
Got a border to dig & tidy in the back garden today then the fabbing will begin .i read a colour me beautiful book last night lots of ideas what colours suit me so the fabbing in future will include tips I picked up .
Any ideas on how to de age my hands would be lovely
    Happy Saturday everyone xx

    whichwhy....

My hands are older than the rest of me too:rotfl:

My nails are weak and flake, so I keep using OPI Nail Envy or the like and then paint on a gel type top coat or glitter nail polish to save them from knocks.

Wearing gloves for housework and gardening helps, use a sunscreen on backs of hands when out and moisturise as if your life depends on it! If sitting and relaxing or in bed if you can slather on hand cream or vaseline or nivea etc then keep the gloves on it will really help.

Now all I need to do is practice all this, I have slipped lately:(

To add insult to injury I have an eczema break out on my right hand:eek:

Morning all - sorry I haven't posted for ages but I have been following your escapades!
I won't bore you all with the details of the last few weeks - just work, family visits and being with the Fling (who had lens replacement surgery this week - scary!) - just suffice to say everything is plodding along as usual.

I have started running again and am forcing myself out 3 or 4 times a week - still at the hard work stage but getting there slowly - the aim is to be able to do 10K by the end of May - I'm at just over 5k now so some way to go yet......

Just a quick question - my hair has decided to become very dry and as its Easter Sunday shops aren't open - is there anything I may have at home that I could use as a treatment for it?
