I called, he offered me the points. I said no let me do a quote (I don't really need one but didn't want to appear rude). I then went through the quote. He did the hard-sell on me, I asked him to call back and I never got the points!

I'm so weak.

Don't know if this has been posted yet... but you should be able to get a quote by asking for insurance on a car you're thinking of buying (to get round the renewal clause) - just look out the window at your neighbour's number plate and quote that... surely?

I have just telephoned Tesco to ask for a quote. One of our cars is due for renewal in September. I was told that as it is outside 30 days to go online and do the quote there. So I filled in the online form and put in my clubcard number. (there is a box online for you to put in a code as well but i don't have one) I pressed continue after filling it all in and it then said that there was an error and to call them. What a pain. Definitely luck of the draw!

Just got through on the 0113 to switchboard then asked for tesco car insurance quote few seconds wait and spoke to a nice fella who said because of call volume he wasn't...well you get the gist.

Any way 500 free points without the need to go through quote process!

Thanks for this, I said my insurance is up for renewal on 1st August and I'd seen the leaflet, he took my clubcard number and said could I ring back in a few weeks because their really busy and I've got a few weeks to ring round for quotes! Asked how I'd heard about it and I said I got a leaflet - he said we're absoluatly inundated because this money saving thingy site has emailed all its members!:T

I just called, with a date outside 30 days, just told to call back later. no points offered. Apparently there is a reference code on the leaflet. Anyone have this?

What a nice man - David - He said he couldnt quote me for Sept cos the system wouldnt cater for it but if I was ringing because of the points promotion he could just add them now anyway. Phoned the 0113 number cos I get free landline calls.....nice little earner. Thanks Martin. x
