same story as everyone else it seems. called up on 0113 number, asked for car insurance, asked for a quote and mentioned the points offer, the kind lady asked for when but mine was over 30 days from now, so she gave me the points anyway. no more than 3 minutes!0

I telephoned there now and she didn't give me a quote, just asked for my card number and said the 500 points would be added on to my account!! :j :money: :T0

Told Mr. T that I wanted a quote for 3 months from now and they said that they couldn't help me until 30 days before insurance due.......got my points though!!!!
Promised them for November statement.

JUST PHONED UP ASKING FOR A QUOTE, SHE MADE ME GO THROUGH AN (IMAGINARY) QUOTE, I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY DISCOUNTS OR ANYTHING WITH BEING A CLUB CARD HOLDER TO WHICH SHE SNOTTILY REPLIED WELL THERE'S 500 POINTS, I MADE OUT I WAS AFTER A DISCOUNT BUT SAID WELL IF THERE'S POINTS GOING I'LL HAVE THEM, SHE SAID " DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE POINTS BEFORE" I SAID NO YOU'VE JUST TOLD ME..... Just rung the quote line..actually wanting a quote but they dont do them unless you now own the car (they used to quote for prospecive purchases too) but i got my 500 points from a friendly operator . Not a long hold to get thru either ...great

Just called Tesco Car Insurance (on the 0845 number, the 0113 just said the switchboard was now shut, but using an O2 mobile so it came out of my inclusive minutes)
It went like this...
Tesco: Hi, I'm Dan your UK sales consultant, how can I help?
Me: Hi, I saw the leaflet in-store about the 500 Clubcard points offer for a quote.
T: OK, were you actually wanting a quote? It has to be for insurance to start in the next 30 days and I can just give you the points instead if you want...
M: Oh just the points would be great, my insurance isn't due for a couple of months
T: OK, let me just take a few details [name/postcode/Clubcard number]. That's it all gone through, it'll be on your next Clubcard statement. Thanks for calling in!
M: Thanks
Simple as, and only a couple of minutes on hold
