Thanks Gib. I can definitely see how happiness is having choices and having choices means not being in debt - now my debt is decreasing it's good to have a bit of wiggle room.

And after saying I was keeping the Tesco money for Christmas I 'splashed out' on a beach parasol and a usb fan at the vast cost of £6.25. Going to pick them up after work on Monday. DD will be pleased as the parasol will fit in the little table so she can read outside. Couldn't resist the Tesco boosts.

I've also cashed in £2.50 of Nectar points for 4 swims at our local holiday inn Spirit gym pool. What a spender. Looking forward to a swim tomorrow. Gotta dust off the cossie

Thanks Gib for your positivity - I can just hear how that conversation is going to go now :rotfl::rotfl:

I speed read the other bit and read shoot the dog and pigeon. Glad I misread it and hope they didn't end up in the pond.

DH is cooking home made curry tonight and it's almost ready - smells delicious. :D

Lol - no animals were harmed in the writing of this diary. And no pond either. The dog waited for the pigeon to fly off, then gave chase and pretended to look 'hard' by protecting their garden.

Hopefully I'm all caught up on reading and posting now. Lol Gib, Im pleased to hear. Thanks Ali, i was cross posting. That really makes sense, a bit of space is far more productive. I just have to get motivated now. :)

Weekend Food shop went well although I went in Lidl twice plus MrS and MrT. Wasn't ultra frugal, but not bad. Need to buy a tray of eggs from farm shop and top up milk sometime.

Feels like the boring bit of moneysaving now so need to keep motivated. I want to change our account from premier to basic and save £25 a month. I got a little unnerved when they said but once you close this you won't be able to have it again as it's discontinued.... it had the effect they wanted and I'm all of a dither. I need to sit down and work out the true benefits.

I bought living basil and coriander yesterday and would like to keep them growing. Also would like a courgette plant. - any ideas ? Toms are growing but no redness yet. DM says I need to buy to food - a trip to the pound shop I think.

DH cooked a gorgeous meal, plenty of leftovers too and we watched the full monty. Pretty hot in the night, but it's cooled down today with a fresh breeze - about time thank goodness.

Have washed, ironed and put away. Now to get the Hoover working and the cloakroom spring cleaned. Am really grateful for peace of mind.

Have a great day all :)

Hey SS! I haven't kept up with your diary I am so sorry! You talk lots :D

Re the courgettes, they are just in season now so it is a bit late for this year. They appear easy to grow though as my FIL attempted onions, potatoes, and courgettes in his first year of growing, and so far everything is good and edible! :D Can't really go wrong though... ;)

I can never keep any living things growing. Party because I have no light in the kitchen or bathroom thanks to the wall from the next door house being a few feet away from both, and party because anywhere there is light, there is also a two year old willing to rip things to pieces. :rotfl:

I am glad you have peace of mind! Hugs! :)

I don't have green fingers either. I did have some tomato plants in a tomato plant bag thing many years ago because the then neighbour insisted and supplied it all. He even used to pop in the back gate and feed and water them, then leave a box of picked ones on the back door step! So can't really say I've grown anything at all based on that :rotfl:

It's on my list of 'would like to have a go' but similar to lilt, two doglets like to rip anything out of earth that is new. :o

Hi Lilty, yes I must stop withering on- I thought that myself earlier. Don't worry about not keeping up, you've got enough on your plate. Nothing much going on here DD and I watched old episodes of New Tricks and then Judge John Deed. Next week the mop, bucket and Hoover are having a good run. :o

The dishwasher door is now refusing to open more than 6 inches. Luckily there is 2 months of the 5 year warranty left.

I remember the everything destroyed stage. It involved 2 pairs of glasses and my beautiful necklace still has a slight kink it in from the squeeze. :rotfl:

Ali my plant growing is a bit like my cake making - good for a 10 year old. :o. But I have a go. :)

INOD. I once stuck a coriander from the supermarket in a plant pot and had a crop the whole summer. I think you are right though nothing has grown on since. Even the plant I bought from the health food shop a few weeks ago just died. The seeds sprouted again and then got frazzled in the recent heat wave. I'm a trier though. :)

Right night all. I have running and cleaning and now washing up to do next week. Off to put the ear phones in and listen to the archers - it's all go here :D

So got home and DD had 'missed' the note about emptying the dishwasher and hanging up the washing.

So she emptied the dishwasher and cooked dinner while I took the rubbish out, watered the garden, hung the washing, washed the bin, fed the cats and washed up.

Dinner was delicious so will wash up and get the washing in shortly before hitting the sack early.

Running day tomorrow and I want to do a few chores in the evening.

    Hi all

Work was [strike] wormy [/strike] workety :rotfl:

Everyone is so lovely, even though a massive reshuffle about to happen. Not like the last place. I'm trying my hardest not to worry about a years time. My aim is to be a sought after employee by then (am I not anyway? :o).

I heard that I haven't been accepted for the postgrad course I applied. I'm actually relieved, but I really need to gain a degree level qualification fast and cheap. Come on MSErs - ideas please! :p. I have done a bit of accounts but only part which is now expired. I'm thinking of Cima, but any analyst course would be good. I keep hearing about CPDs - does that mean I can add any course towards a degree?

I'm pleased with myself as work was workety as it should be. Then at home Ran for 2 miles. Then hoovered the whole house and mopped the cloakroom floor. If I keep up like this ill soon be up todate.

Another friend/old colleague keeps sending me her cv to remedy. Fortunately she keeps sending it in the wrong format so I can't even open it . I've spent a lot of time helping her, even when I was really suffering at my old job. Starting to get a little annoyed at moment as don't want to pressure myself. The phone rang 3 times one after the other last night and I was pretending to be out. Don't want to appear heartless, but am only just back up and running and still have a lot to get through. Will have a look at the weekend.

Dishwasher door is jammed alxmost shut. Luckily still under warranty by 2.5 months. Haven't started the new month but hopeful for a frugal one. Most things accounted for.

DDs school shoes should arrive tomorrow in time for orthotics appt on Friday. Yayy.

I have a lead to follow up for some possible bookkeeping work, so must do that. Also need to swap DDs account for one of the 3% payers.

Night all have a good one. :)

ps when do you reduce your totals - as soon as the new salary in nd allocated or do you wait until you make the payment OR wait for statement.
