Hey ss - I think student loans are a good way of paying for learning that ultimately should improve your situation and earning potential. It'll be brilliant and like you said, if you don't earn enough, it won't affect things. My brother hasn't had to pay his off yet (apart from a couple of times when overtime has pushed it over the threshold) and he finished uni almost 10 years ago!!! They've also raised the amount you can earn too - I'm sure it was about £10,000 or so in the olden days when I first went
You've really made me think about Sky, although I realised that I might have forgotten to take out protect, which solves me a problem. If not, I'll cancel it and save, lol. Also, I share your excitement about a fuel gift cardx

Thanks Shelbi. A bit nerve wracking cancelling the insurance. Will it break down next week, thanks for Your encouragement. :)xx
Been to MrLs and was adding all kind of non-list things to the trolley. Bill came to £37.37 which is amazing. Popped to MrTs for the remainder and spent £19.35 and earned 21 points. Just a few things I couldn't find in MrLs - poppa dons cost £1.79 in MrTs. Mr SS said he bought Some in Ald1s for 65p. I need to look a bit harder next time. So with the £10 I spent on Friday night which included - bag of my fave fairy dishwasher tablets for £4.99 that is a total for first week of £66.72. Slightly more than planned but quite a few long terms items e.g teabags. We have also donated £34 to our local charity.
Right off to check a few diaries.
Happy Saturday to everyone too. XxxOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

If it breaks ss, just get NOW TV. There are loads of free trials (1mth movies, 3mths entertainment) and shedloads of catchup stuff. We've got it for our bedroom to save on multiroom or extra boxes, and I can honestly say that it's a revelation. I love my telly, and wouldn't cancel my sky atm unless it was absolutely necessary, but NOW TV would be a much more frugal alternative / addition for a lot less

It's quite a revelation when you realise you can leave DD at home and go to study. I'm starting to taste a little bit of that pre-child freedom and now have something to prove as DS can't quite believe that Mum is going 'back to school.'
Ooh curry sounds ground and hope the Naans turned out wellBack on the DFW Wagon:

Was fab curry, my naans went down well. Followed Anjum Anand's Peshwari recipe. Would like to add a bit more filling and butter next time to make them more like the restaurant ones.
It's great to get independence back and a good example to our little uns.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hello SuperDave
I don't know what my fingers were doing but I think it kinda suits you. And can I just say you are most definitely wrong to say your name doesn't suit. Reading those figures. What could have been versus what is... that is a blummin big saving!
Reading all of these posts about exams, courses etc makes me glad my employers chose not to put me down that route a few years ago. With Jellytot I would have found it incredibly difficult to juggle and right now am better off. In the future, those AAT's etc sound good to me. I may just persuade bosses to put me through my IFA training. I prefer the accountancy side of my job but anything would be good progression in the future.
I am hopeful to catch up properly with your diary in the next few days. And a few others
Lots of hugs and positive vibes your way. Sleep coming mine! xx

As well as my super peshwari naans, (even though I do say so myself
) I also made some of Annabel Karmels oat-bars
I didn't have the seeds or the apricots so I used sultanas and some of the seed mix I use for breakfast. They were delicious - almost all gone now - and I have lots of ingredients to make more tomorrow.
The peshwari naans will be a regular now too. I just need to find cheaper poppadoms and our curry nights will be complete. I'm making one of GPs teas 'Rajma Masalsa' this week. And I also want to try Pineapple Rasam from the same web site.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. A lovely sunny August to look forward to (hopefully). Sending hugs out to all that need themOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
