Kondoing has changed my shopping habits too, I still like to purchase items but then I'm looking for more experiences too.
Glad you're doing so well, even if you're a bit busy0 -

In RL I am dieting, exercising, kondoing and working hard. Feels like a juggling act but it's all coming together so far. Thank you old thread and everyone who has helped me. I am hoping to start a new thread some day, but can't decide at this moment where it should focus on - so much going on. Hopefully it will become clear soon and in the words of that famous actor 'I'll be back' xxxx
Hi Supersaver. I've been reading your posts on the Konmarie thread and I have found them inspiring. At some point I will get around to doing more Kondo-ing myself but at the moment I am very bogged down in a computery project.
Do link to your new diary from this one if you decide to start a new one - meanwhile, I'm sure we'll meet in other threads.

Thank you P&F.
I'm the same at the moment and although the kondoing and MSE is never far from my thoughts, its all had to take a back seat.
I'm pleased to say that debt-neutral is still on target for next summer and we may even say goodbye to the CCs then. But it feels like that will then the point at which we can start working towards the future. Frustrating, but exciting at the same time.
Good luck all you MSErs. SS xxOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Just popped in to have a quick catch up and wasn't going to post here, but then thought, why not.
I had a look at a few of the first posts I made on this thread - that was a hard time and its been a hard 18 months or so. But, with everyone's support I've made it to a much better place.
Financially we aren't that much different really, but it just feels different.
We have got £10k in the bank - yes, I know that really we should pay off the £9k credit card, but with DH being SE, its a security blanket instead of insurance and/or a loan if he needs to fund a big project.
I've also swapped my car finance for a bank loan with a very good rate of interest - I'm not really factoring that in at the moment, as the value of the car is around the value of the loan - its a 3 year old car so by the time I want to replace it the loan will be long gone. DH took out a loan to start up his business and actually made an overpayment the other day (!!!) - its a Halibobs loan so can do that from his bank account and he got a letter to say he has saved £6.52 interest. I think he may be hooked.
Would love to say that the job going swimmingly - it's not all plain sailing but I am learning so much. Very overworked and I am trying to tackle that - the difference this time is that I have support from different departments (whereas last time it was me against the world - and I also feel more secure this time). Just keeping my head down until the new year for now, when I should have recharged batteries and be ready to go forth :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Only a few weeks until the Christmas hols :T:T:rotfl:

Hi SS - I dropped in yesterday after a long time away as well and I was wondering how you were doing.
Financially it feels different probably because you are in control now, you know what you're doing and have a handle on things.
I am looking forward to hearing about your different road.0 -
Oh my goodness. Just been reading through my diary and I was very relieved to get to the part where I left my very stressful job. Its funny to look back and think it was only about six years ago that I started the diary - it feels like my debt free journey was much longer. Although being in debt was about 20 years (since I met DH) so that's perhaps why. Its funny that back then my focus was on what I was spending and I wasn't spending large amounts but still buying quite a few bits and pieces. My spending habits have definitely changed.
So about six years down the line we not only paid off all our debts but have bought a lovely house. I just wasn't sure why I was feeling so miserable, starting to have doubts about the house, my relationship etc. I've think I've pinned it down to changes at work - long story but it has changed my job to one that I am not happy in. I'm already looking for another job, but am going to go through the channels at work as well. I know I'm lucky to have my job, but can't help feeling down about it, so some action needed. It helps to write it down here - my action is going to be to go through the formal channels but in a positive way (if that's possible); to look for a new job; to keep exercising and start the diet again. Start doing some things around the house as it always makes me happy to make things/style things. I also found this out and need to follow it:
Have 2 pints water as a minimum daily
This can include squash and I will buy more of the grapefruit high juice squash from Asda - delish and is has vitC - also good!
Take a multivitamin with Bs esp B5
Avoid sugar and stimulants
Only 2 cups of very weak tea allowed each day
Limit coffee to occasional treat
Have 3 servings of protein a day and combine them with carbs
Eat fish 3 times a week - I actually started blending sardines with lemon and mayo for my sandwich lunch - must find the recipe and start that again as also good for bones
Have a tablespoon of seeds each day - grind them up on porridge in the morning ( another thing I stopped from simple laziness)
Eat regularly and eat low GI foods
Also recommended: breathing exercises, Pilates, Exercise, meditation. aromatherapy - especially in bath oils, talk to someone - connect, put some music on, go outside and get some sunshine/fresh air.
Seems a lot but can be done quite MSE so I've no excuses. You can also try chromium 200mcg, Lecithin, Gingko Bilbao but I didn't last time as the above had a great effect. All common sense stuff really.

Just over two years on and am popping into my old diary to say hello to it and that I haven't forgotten. Reading the first couple of pages of the early days and remembering sitting in the kitchen crying was a strange but vivid memory. A lot has happened since then, but I'll never forget that hard journey which was sort of punctuated by Covid. Since September 2020 I'm pleased to say that things have slowly but surely moved forward, and that LBM back in 2014 seems almost another life. We've a large mortgage to pay, and not a lot of years before retirement to pay it, but I feel so positive that we can do this. This afternoon we sat watching tv, nothing too exciting happening just feeling very contented. Hope everyone has a happy christmas and best wishes to everyone for the new year.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
