  • So here I am, minding my own business, reading about money-saving recipes, money-saving tips, and all of a sudden, it dawns on my that, 'Let's all hang out on supersaver's thread' means something entirely different in these 'ere parts..... :rotfl: At least you've a cape for modesty ss :D

Is this 'we're in this together, in the altogether' strictly enforced?

Lol. I think it's all Scottish powers fault. Meanwhile my buymobiles cashback still not paid and they have stopped responding to my tweets.

I also bashed someone's bumper yesterday. Only a little ding but took the paint off :(. Will find out the true extent soon. Must take more care, but am trying not to get depressed about it as it won't help. Just annoyed that it will have a financial effect one way or the other grrrr!

Had splitting headache all evening - I think it was coming on earlier so took myself off to bed extra early so now awake at silly o'clock.

I'm going to allow myself a little down time tomorrow and hopefully all cylinders firing again soon. :)

  • Felt better yesterday, but not sleeping getting on my nerves. Feeling so much better today, I really am a coper but life events lately have knocked my confidence. Feel I'm getting back up now though.

The course idea is changing slightly. Am going to have a look at more options I've discovered this weekend. Also feeling more confident in my work and money plans (despite the set back of my car prang!). Have put that to one side til I find out the true cost - no point worrying. Means I am feeling stronger.

    :)

  • Just spent ages on a post, then lost it all. Oh well I was just saying I'm having a lovely weekend, been cooking and spending time with the family. It's been great.

Hope everyone is safe, the storms weren't too bad here and seem to be moving away, although we are in a sheltered spot.

Homemade flapjack making today, bought more seeds, currants and coconut in MrLs - they really are delicious flapjacks. :). Then washing down the bathroom ready for painting in the week. I'd really like to put up a huge mirror in the bathroom and make a mosaic tiled frame so I'm going to have fun researching that too.

Financially things are pretty okay this month. It's going to be a bit more spendy with school hols, and we are staycationing! But things look positive. My aim next month is to get the CCs below £15k but will have to see what the car prang brings.

The aim is to have the CCs covered by next summer so that we can then start saving. Wouldn't that be a novelty!

    Other things to do today:

Buy some cinema tickets with my Tesco points (£2.50 each)
Check out the Morrisons vouchers I keep missing
Double check nectar points - I'd done 66 the other day but there may be some more
Plan my Staycation which will include some shabbychiccing of furniture
Pull together all the pros and cons of the different courses

Have a great Sunday all :)

  • Ahoy!!

I am with you on shabby-chic'ing. I've two IKEA 'boxes' which are starting to look rather worn, plain and wooden as they are. They are begging for some paint. I also need to work out how to recover the worn corduroy on my rocking chair. Would love it to be snazzy!

I did nectar adpoints for the first time all YEAR! Shame on me. I got 198 this week though. Him pointed out 'thats a loaf of bread' - Not in Bluddy Sainsbugs say I!

Enjoy your pro/con set up. I too need to do this. And 2 weeks meal planning. MIL bringing courgettes and a marrow tomorrow so I am googling ways to stretch them. Not phsyically... just foodically.

I am so behind on diaries :( sorry I haven't been here more. Sending you lots of positive vibes and hugs!

    Hey ss,
Loving the continued positivity although am sad to hear that your confidence has been knocked and about your sleeping difficulties...sorry I've not been about to send supportive hugs!
Exciting stuff about the furniture and cooking - I must take a leaf out of your 'productive' book. How awesome would it be to be writing this in 12mths time (not wishing our lives away) saying your CC's are completely gone! x

  • Thanks Gib and Lilt. I've been a bit up and down of late. More up than down now thank goodness. So much has happened in this past year and now I'm frantically trying to make sense of it. I need to relax just a bit and figure out the right route. It can get better and it will get better.

Have overspent a bit and there's still another weekend before payday. However it has been a spendy time what with school hols and staycationing, plus car tyres and school shoes, trainers etc. am expecting a bit of cash in this week (fingers crossed) so hope to balance the books soon.

Have found about another course today that won't cost as much money and is relevant to work. Am going to follow that up tomorrow

Hugs to everyone, thanks for all the support.
