You can convert one of your accounts online.

You might have to ring, or visit a branch, to close the other. A better way to close an account is to switch it to another bank and collect a switching incentive.

Applied for the account online last week been reserved a club lloyds account number / sort code and have been in branch to do the ID thing. New customer to LLoyds.

However, I am wondering if I will get the account - I don't have the best credit score, no mention of this in branch they happily did the necessary with the ID and said I should get everything through in a few days.

I looked online with Experian and the search shows up there, however, I did notice my credit score increased by 24 points as a result!

Would I have been reserved a club lloyds account number if they weren't going to give me the account? I am fully expecting a letter next week saying 'computer says no!' Exciting times!! Anyone else have a questionable credit history and still go the account?

Well letter arrived today. One of the ID items was a letter that was 3 pages long from local authority, page 3 saying this page is left blank for your notes. So the chap in branch only copied the first 2 pages, but because it says 2/3 on the bottom they said today they want to see page 3/3 - so been in branch again, they took a copy of the blank page (much to the dismay of the lady i saw), she rang someone up and said it's a blank page, but no they still want it copied! So the wait starts all over again!! Not even banked with LLoyds yet and starting to get fed up with them already!!

Success! Pleasantly surprised my Club Lloyds account has been opened today! Based on my credit history I did think I would be offered a cash account, but confirmation email today that my club lloyds account has been opened.

    Craig,
Can i write them if I didnt get freebies with my Cosmopolitan?
Few days ago I get August Cosmo in LLoyds bag, without freebie (I just ordered magazine because of them!) - I know it should be one! And today I get July Cosmo, not in a LLoyds bag, but it was with a hole, so no freebies again (well, ok, maybe this time not LLoyds fault)...

You'll see from comments further back in the thread that Hearst Magazines seem to work on the basis that they send the magazines they want to send, rather than the ones you want to receive.
