This thread is a whine-fest. Y'all need to get out more; there's more to life than complaining about FREE magazines."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0

Well my Gourmet card arrived yesterday and I have a cracking gastropub near work that I'm keen to try it out on0

I got my Gourmet Card the other week and used it at Planet Hollywood in London - just booked the table earlier in the day for a 5.30pm sitting and told them I wanted to use the card. No problem.0

However, refusing to deal with Lloyds just because a freebie hasn't landed on your doorstop within 5 minutes of opening the account seems a little harsh.
I'm not refusing to deal with them. Just making them pay for a service they promise but fail to achieve even after two previous hollow promises to sort it out.
If you don't complain sadly you usually don't get nowadays.Smithers37 wrote: »This thread is a whine-fest. Y'all need to get out more; there's more to life than complaining about FREE magazines.
I'd love to get out more but living out in the sticks there ain't a Vue cinema for miles nor anywhere that takes the Gourmet Society card.If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -
I have a Vue within 4 miles, but I've never been as the cost has always been extortionate. It either costs me £3.30 to park the car, or £3.50 to get there and back on the bus. Car takes 15 minutes, Bus takes 45 minutes (plus waiting for one to turn up). Then the film cost of £8.25 and the ridiculous cost of the refreshments (and if you take your own, you are told to either consume them before entering or dump them).
Would have much preferred a magazine in my interest, but the magazine selection is very poor.
The cinema tickets do seem the best value however - £8.25 * 6 = £50, or thereabouts.
How do you know if you've never been? Like most cinemas, Vue lets you take in your own food.0 -
My cinema tickets have just arrived. Took just over three weeks but I suppose the demand is high."It would be easier to find a packet of sliced hippopotamus in suitcase sauce" - Basil Fawlty0

I have friends who have been. They were refused admission with the food they were carrying. They were told that if they wanted to watch the film, they'd have to leave it behind.
Then again, they also paid for VIP seating, and once inside, noticed that there wasn't any VIP seating left! Did get a refund on that after a complaint however.0 -
