Sorry, but we don't need as yet unsupportable and possibly libellous allegations of fraudulent trading by the company adduced as tenuous justification for misinforming Paypal or other payment methods about what has happened.

If the SIM arrived and has been used for a while, then the claim is against the company or its administrator in due course.

Even if the tariff is notionally free, if you've used it you've had value from it.

If someone ordered yesterday and the SIM never arrives, that might be something to discuss with credit cards or Paypal

Exactly. If a sim was ordered and it hasn't arrived yet, then fair enough.

moneysavingexpert (affiliate for Ovivo) has tweeted it is switching out of its sales role for a while and going into consumer rights mode and is working on an article informing customers of their rights.

MSE dosent have a sales role!

Using your flawed theory, should Quidco & TopCashBack be responsbile for refunding customers that joined OVIVO through them?

MSE has a sales role just like any other deal website, as Groupon etc do.

You are ignoring that it makes money from the deals it promotes with an asterisk. I would have no complaint if it was merely brining information to the reader's attention.

It isn't, it offer deals with an asterisk with the intention to make money.

Topcashback has apparently said it will refund customers. I would say this is a commercial decision to avoid bad publicity and based on checking how many deals were outstanding. It probably has a small amount to refund.

As Topcashback is refunding customers you agree MSE should too?

A point I should mention, I am assuming MSE was paid by Ovivo for introducing customers but I never checked how the affiliate linked tracked. MSE might actually have been paid by some other link in the sales chain. It's all a sales chain though just often has series of intermediaries.

It could tell us in its article who paid it.

It's slightly odd they've got that story but haven't been able to contact any of the 3 partners.

I think TopCashBack customers should count themselves very lucky as this is a very generous offer - Although I cant find any details so if you would be so kind as to provide a link.

MSE isnt in a sales role. MSE provides details of all the various offers and deals available and from that people can decide whether they go through to that website and buy. So what if MSE offers an affiliate link? MSE is upfront and honest about it, and you dont have to click on it to visit the site.

TC were due to pay users the cashback amount provided by Ovivo, they have kindly stepped in to cover this out of their own money, people would have no claim if they didn't do that though. MSE is not due to pay anyone money and is no more responsible than any other comparison/advice/news website which has described the Ovivo service.

I'm assuming now that you are trolling because many have told you that you are completely in the wrong but you won't accept that.

If you search this forum there is mention of Topcashback's offer. I don't know if it is true, I just read it on a forum.

I don't agree with your description of MSE. The financial incentive does influence how it behaves in my view. It does lead to risky deals like this being given far more exposure than they should have, which snow balls into costs for all of us that MSE should pay. That's the only way to balance the money making incentive and ensure it does better checks and does not promote that the public hands over £20 when there is at least the chance punters will be left with nothing.
