Still no sign of my first bill after submitting my meter reading 3 days ago.
Rang ExtraEnergy to enquire when it would arrive and was told "approx 2 to 3 weeks".
I managed to calculate my bill in under 2 minutes.
Perhaps I should offer them my services as "bill calculator".:rotfl:
Anyway, at least my money stays in my bank account rather than theirs for a little longer.
What a way to run a business!:D0 -
Can someone advise how to work out a roughly estimate for the monthly usage ?
I'm not really very good at maths but I'm guessing I add up total payments made, minus the daily charge by x amount of days and then multiply the unit rate by total number of units?
How do you work out the units?0 -

Your current supplier will tell you your annual usage in seconds. It'll also be on your annual statement.
Monthly usage is misleading - you'll use 2-3 times as much in a winter month as you will now.0 -

Yeah I've tried ringing them to request this but as we have only been with the company a few months they state they cannot provide a usage only provide me with previous readings that I provided.
The reason I ask is because the direct debit that was setup is 25% lower than my previous provider, I don't think we are paying enough each month to cover the total usage especially in the winter. I requested this to be increased but apparently they cannot make changes to the direct debit amount until after I've been provided with an annual statement which seems ridiculous.
I don't want to be hit with a massive bill at the end of the year.0 -

That does seem ridiculous, but then the billing systems energy compies employ borders on the farcical.
I would say you have 3 options:
1) Attempt to be firm - it's your DD, instruct them to raise it.
2) Pay a one off amount towards your balance - if a firm can't take money in the old fashioned way then there really is a problem
3) "Self insure" - put £x/month into an ISA in case the big bill comes.0 -
When I joined about three months ago they they set up the dd lower than my previous supplier and I just requested it is kept the same and they were happy to do that. Also every month I keep a record of my readings and then work out how much I have used. Very easy to do.0

unit rate X units plus standing charge plus 5% . don't forget to alter if need to convert to kwh.
p.s Julie jaglawski and most of the old npower squad management work there so don't expect a billDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
I thought this was a young dynamic company and not one full of old fossils. Explains why the online account facilities are still not working fully.
afraid not, they also pay peanutsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
