Well ExtraEnergy have come out top for me on all the comparison sites, price wise.

Would you say an annual saving of £57 was worth the potential (reading this thread!) hassle of moving to them?

If you are a millionaire then £57 may not be worth the bother. However for someone else it could be the difference in not having to go to food banks.

No need for that tone, I was only asking.

Okay well I will give them a go then!

Yeh, some of us aren't well off and even £57 would mean a lot to me.

Enough fuel to run my light aircraft for an hour for instance!:rotfl:

Well I don't have a light aircraft (would love to!) but I am sure I will find a user for the £57! Maybe flea treatment for my cat!?

Okay well I will take the plunge! What's the worst that could happen..??!?!
  • My switch from EDF went through quite smoothly after.

I was fearing the worse regarding my final bill from EDF but all was fine.

Only gripe I had was the lack of info from EE about the switch date as I only found out the date I was switching from my EDF account also there website is very basic despite claims from EE it,s being worked on (very slowly I might add).

Its just a joke their online service. As one contributor has already said its been saying for months its coming soon. Every time I phone them they say in a few weeks.

I keep a manual account of all meter readings entered and do a financial calculation myself so I have some idea where I stand.

So far not impressed with this company and may have to say bi bi soon.

    UPDATE.

For anyone still with EE they now advise we should have full online account facilities end July or beginning of August 2014.

    That's great news.

Feeling a little deflated with EE at the moment however as joined them on the 18th May and since that date all seemed to go smoothly and customer service was great however I received an email to say we were transferring over on the 17th June for Gas and Elec however only Electricity went over as I am on a Independent Gas Transporter supply.

Since the 17th June I have been chasing and promised a call back on three occasions to no avail when my gas is changing over from British Gas as apparently this is kept on a different system which required them to call up and find out.

However this doesn't take over 3 weeks to get this information so will call again today as I was promised a call before today AGAIN regarding this.

Hopefully good service will resume with EE once we are fully over and confirmed!.

    Frustrating.
  • Since issuing a transfer from British Gas for our Gas Supply and Eon for our Electricity supply on the 19th May we have had nothing but problems with Extraenergy regarding the Gas transfer.

It seems the Electricity supply came over to Extraenergy as promised on the 17th June and as per the confirmation emails we received however we were also emailed to confirm the Gas supply would be transferred on the same date but despite receiving this confirmation this hasn't been the case and trying to get information or a call back from extraenergy seems impossible.

This is not a great start for a new company and I am starting to regret the feeling of giving your company a try as our supplier.

Now I understand the issues stem around the fact that we are on Independent Gas Transporter network which is a little different to others however my issues is with the communication from Extraenergy. I have now spoken with 3 different people over the course of 3 weeks at Extraenergy and each time I have been promised a call back regarding confirmation of the transfer date for the Gas supply as they need to go through a different company to find this information out and this can take some time. However each time I never receive a call back and have to call back to chase again and again and when I do they know nothing more than the last time I called and have to go through the process of calling the same company for this information.

This happened again this Monday 23rd June, I called and was told that Extraenergy would look into why it has not transferred and let me know when this would be happening, I was promised that someone would be calling me back before Friday 27th June, however Friday is here once again and it has taken me 3 calls today to finally get someone to look into this.

Finally today I have managed to speak with someone at extraenergy who said he would look into this and call me back.

After nearly 2hrs he did call me back to say that he was unable to find out any more information and would have to speak with his manager. So 3 weeks on we know any more than we did then. I have asked for a Manager at extraenergy to call me back today and await to see if I receive this.

This is unacceptable service and therefore I myself have done my own calling now to get some sort of answer and after speaking with GTC directly they have confirmed the issues is with Extraenergy as the 'file' has been rejected twice now more recently on the 14th June due to incorrect information provided (wrong codes etc).

I also had it confirmed that the supply is likely to now be going ahead on the 18th July however she couldn't confirm this as she is waiting for information (a file) from extraenergy to make the transfer and would need this and for it to be correct for the transfer to take place.

I will update when I know more

    Just an update.

Yesterday I submitted my first quarterly meter reading which should enable EE to generate my first bill.

Unlike my previous supplier (EDF) the EE website doesn't generate an instant bill and I shall have to assume that this is done offline and I shall be sent an email with the bill as an attachment within a few days.

As the online payment facilities are still a dream rather than a reality, it looks as though I shall be making my payment over the phone or via a bank transfer if I can get EE to give me their sort code and account number.

I'll keep you all posted as to what happens in the next few days.

I promised an update on billing and here it is.

Following the submission of my meter reading on the 29th June I fully expected to receive my bill within a couple of days but as of this morning no sign of it, so rang customer services to get some idea of when it would arrive.

    I was told 3 weeks.

I calculated my bill in 2 minutes without the aid of a sophisticated software programme. Perhaps I should offer my services to ExtraEnergy.

Never mind, at least my money stays in my bank account a little longer.
