We just called extra energy querying about a statement / balance but apparently statements are not sent out through the post until 6 months after a meter read ?

They couldn't provide a balance on the account either even though we are paying via direct debit... All very odd!

Not very good at all. I keep a record of all meter readings and do a calculation each month so I know exactly how much energy I have used. Also very, very disappointed at their very poor website and considering this is an online account its just a joke.

turning into a bit of a joke this, an online account with absolutely NO functionality whatsoever!

could they be breaking any T&C's that we signed up to at all?

think i'm looking for a way out now, don't want to pay the exit fees though as i really don't think this is 'fit for purpose'.

it is when the person that sunk our most hated supplier, julie jaglowski is in charge again
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Just to update my story.

Finally got my closing EDF bill amended following calls to EDF and ExtraEnergy this morning.

It turns out that ExtraEnergy were responsible for supplying an estimated closing reading to EDF because they didn't receive an actual reading from me on the day of the switch and why didn't I do that because they failed to advise me of the switch date.

Glad it's finally sorted although it's taken almost 7 weeks to accomplish.

Next hurdle will be when I submit my first quarterly meter reading as I'm on payment on presentation of bill and not DD and fixed payments like the majority of you.

Will I get the bill quickly or wait an age and then will I be able to pay it via the online payment facility (you know, the one that has been promised for months).

I still have faith in ExtraEnergy and although their teething problems are dragging on somewhat, I'm still hopeful that I shan't regret the decision to switch to them.
  • Looking to switch to Extra Energy from EDF, can someone let me know what is available once you sign in online, i.e. can you see your current balance, last meter reading, online statements e.t.c

Can someone post a screen shot, minus personal details, always like to see what is available online before joining a new company.

    Thanks

In a word, no. All you can currently see is your tariff rates and last meter read. You can submit meter reads on line and change some of your personal details, that is it. The web functionality is due to be upgraded shortly but they have been saying that for months.

Well ExtraEnergy have come out top for me on all the comparison sites, price wise.

Would you say an annual saving of £57 was worth the potential (reading this thread!) hassle of moving to them?

A lot of the comparison sites don`t include Flow Energy which for me was the cheapest.
They don`t include them because they don`t get paid commission.

Every time I phone EE regarding their website I get the same crap reply it will be fully functional in two weeks. This has been going on for at least the last 3 months. So I give them meter readings each month and KEEP a written copy in case something goes wrong.

Just tried Flow but work out dearer.
