Where does it state in the EDF online account when an energy is switched away?

Under account details it says contract end date. It also says my gas is on standard variable rate which is a bit naughty as the blue price april tariff should remain.

well blow me, i've just looked at my edf a/c & i was obviously looking in the wrong place before as i've just found that my gas contract ended yesterday & elec due to end 05.05.14 - no info from EE & obviously no readings supplied.

why aren't they on the same date?

i provided readings to edf on 25.04.14, which has been billed. so hopefully a pretty accurate final read for gas can be estimated?

really not impressed with this up to now, from either of these suppliers.

edit: just spoken to extra energy, really wished i hadn't! OMG, completely frustrated with how that call was handled & fearing the worst now for this transfer...

i 'think' my transfer for gas & elec is 6th May, as someone else has stated, EDF have ended one of my contracts 30.04.14 as the blue tariff end date (why they've only done 1? no idea).

EE have just told me in a very round about & garbled way that they want meter readings 5 days before the actual transfer date "to get the ball rolling & the a/c opened" eh?

i asked at least 3 times why don't they want to read for the date of the supply starting, "we don't use the readings you supply, the industry filters them through the system & makes a reading". ?!?

i said i didn't know what on earth he was going on about, i was going to end the call now & i'll provide readings on 6th May.

n.b. i've just gone back to find the ExtraEnergyRep id, they haven't even been online again since 11.04.14 & i can't see the tab to PM them, so assume it's turned off? so much for having a Rep on the forum!

Oh yeah, I see it now. :)

Mine also says variable for gas (that's switching shortly)

I guess it'll be the same shenanigans with this as it is when suppliers go and raise (variable) prices and I decided not to accept but switch away.

Oh well, wait for the bill, check it and find it is wrong, call customers services, they will say it is right, write official letter of complaint and send recorded delivery, get no confirmation of delivery so complain to Royal Mail and get 6 first class stamps as compo, then supplier will usually send revised bill and apologise for error (if not, off to ombudsman, but never needed to over this type if issue previously)

Can you tell this isn't the first occassion I've been through this loop? :D

Edit: Looks like EDF haave already set my monthly DD to £0.00 too - they haven't told me. That might be because I think they will end up owing me money anyway, even after they get the final readings and come up with a final bill.

...my gas contract ended yesterday & elec due to end 05.05.14 - ...

why aren't they on the same date?...

As gas & electricity switches go through different systems, it's quite common for the actual switch date to differ, even when when buying dual fuel.

You have to supply readings within 5 days (before or after) of the actual switching date for them to be used. Of course, I appreciate you need to know the switch date to do this. Supplying the readings from the actual switching date is best and should mean these are the readings actually used - otherwise they will estinate based on the readings you supply.

However, whenever you supply the readings, they have to be passed though some metering agency to double check them before they can be used for billing purposes - apparently thems the regs.

MSE supplier reps all have their PMs turned off by MSE - you can only contact them either on the forum or by email if that is provided in their profile.

Mine has gone from £90 to £40 presumably because they no longer supply my electric and there is a dd due on the 4th before the gas switch on the 8th. I haven't been told either nor have I received any sorry you are leaving us emails/letters.

Same here, it states elec moved away 28/04 blue, gas end date 09/05 standard variable. DD amount £0. My daughter's account shows both on standard variable, N/A for elec end date, 30/04 for gas end date, DD as normal but she will be in debit at switch date. She has had sorry you are leavings for both though.

yes, i sort of understood what the EE rep was trying to explain, he was just doing an awful job of it & just kept repeating the term "the industry" ?!

(re-posted, i was comparing completely the wrong set of figures!)

via energyhelpline, current figures for our use are now showing Ovo is the cheapest, £1073 per year, which is exactly what i was quoted for with EE V2. EE V3 is showing as £49 more per year now.

tariff info (East Midlands), signed up 03.04.14 & confirmation from EE received 09.04.14
Standing charge: 23.59p per day (£86.12 per year) each for gas & electricity
    Gas: 3.654p per kWh
    Electricity: 10.206p per kWh

    v3 = standing charge 22.13p per day (£80.76 per year), gas 3.613p & elec 11.541p

I think you are reading something wrong, it is showing negative savings for me, more expensive.
