Why am I not surprised.
The next episode in my particular story has just unfolded in the form of my final bill from EDF which is based on an estimated final meter reading because ExtraEnergy have failed to pass them the reading I took on the day of the switch.
So, this morning I rang EDF and gave them that reading and asked them to amend the bill but hey ho and although they will scrap the bill based on an estimated reading they have to raise a dispute with ExtraEnergy, get the reading from them to confirm that it is the same I gave to EDF this morning and wait 4 weeks for a new bill to be generated.
Come on ExtraEnergy, time to start extracting some digits I think!0 -
Some comments on here too rich for the EE rep. Hence the reason we never here anything from them.0

i know there's only a few of us posting about our experience, but most seem negative!
still no email from EE asking for any readings from me today. if it wasn't for this thread, i wouldn't have even contacted them for another week yet as next week would be the 5 weeks stated on the only email i've ever had from them.
Rogcal - did you enter your final reads on EDF site at the same time as EE? clutching at straws thinking this might make a difference as this is what i did yesterday.
i don't think the comments have bothered the EE rep, seeing as they won't have even seen them as they haven't been online again since 11.04.14. i emailed them last week advising this thread needed their input, nothing heard from them yet.
from how my call to EE was handled last week & how this thread is going, i think EE are completely swamped & are suffering.
i've been with EDF for about 6 years as they managed to stay the cheapest. when i first switched to them they made an almighty mess of our account that took over 18 months to get sorted, i really hope this isn't the beginning of that type of saga again...
edit: an email has now come through from EE for a reading, gas only! have called them to query this as online a/c info definitely shows gas & elec tariff info (& the reads i entered yesterday). yet another very long-winded call, EE rep using company jargon instead of straight forward explanation on a very simple query, all very frustrating! it would appear that gas has transferred ok but even though elec has the same contract start date, 'the flow' ? hasn't come through & the transfer is delayed. they'll get back to me by the end of the week to advise further but should honour the read i entered yesterday.
whilst on the phone i checked if anything had changed with my EDF a/c., wish i hadn't as it now states a contract end date of 30.09.12 for gas (still 05.05.14 for elec). it had stated 30.04.14, which i'd assumed was the transfer date, but would appear to be the blue tariff end date.
it's all getting a little confusing now :rotfl:
edit2: EE have just called, which is a good sign (i suppose!), elec is there from today "it's just how their system shows the info which made it a little confusing for her". ahem, sure i've heard that one before0 -
As my contract finished today with NP I gave them the final meter readings online and then gave EE the same readings via their website this am. Hopefully everything will be ok.0

As the switch took place at 23.59 on the 16th I thought it best to give it to EDF on the 17th as early as possible but my account with then had by then been locked from receiving further online meter readings.
I obviously gave EE my opening meter reading via the online facility but worried that my closing meter reading wouldn't reach EDF via EE, I rang EDF and offered them a closing meter reading which was declined on the basis that they could only accept the reading supplied to them via EE as part of the switching protocols. As to how long it will take EE to supply this to EDF is anyone's guess!
I'm not concerned about having to wait for a final bill from EDF but its annoying that I've had to faff around yet again because of EE's failure to operate efficiently and professionally!
and yes, where is the EE forum rep?0 -
Here was I thinking that it was all plain sailing with EE for me so far.Transfer across went ok,final meter readings were requested from EE for them to pass on to NPower and my new DD is set up.
I tried to go online to Npower and give them their final readings also on the day I gave them to EE.My online account had been closed....now worried that EE will not have passed them over having read some of the earlier posts.12 panels south facing,8 panels south-east facing,4KWP system, pitch 40 degrees,Aurora inverter & location is sunny Glasgow.0 -
Summary: Extra Energy too overwhelmed to take me on and have wasted weeks leaving me on a higher tariff.
I did a comparison on MSE Cheaper Energy Club. Extra Energy was best, both because of the cheapest cost per unit (so I worry less about leaving the lights on) and because it was fixed for about the length of time I will be in this flat (until next summer). I decided to note but not heed MSE's warning about new suppliers.
My application was accepted via EnergyHelpline on 29 March with a reference number and projected annual savings of £246.
Then on 15 April I got an email saying:
"Unfortunately your switch application to ExtraEnergy has not been completed due to a processing error in their systems. As a result, they are unable to process your switch application on this occasion."
Translated into English, I think this means "we are overwhelmed because we are small and new and offered the cheapest rate and cannot process new customers within acceptable timeframes".
As we've had a new baby since then, I have only just got around to finding a new supplier. Thus I have lost out on savings because of this process.
You have been warned. The choice must be yours, alone.0 -
i think Rogcal is the 1st (& hopefully last) person that's had a problem with final readings not being passed to the old supplier, so i wouldn't be overly concerned, yet.
strangely, a G4S meter reader has just been to take our readings. absolutely nothing to do with the switch, just our time for an actual read again i guess. i did tell him i'd switched today & he just said these readings will go back to EDF (which should mean no quibble on final reads anyway).
hopefully a few more positive feedbacks to come this week from now on0 -
Hi
I've just switched my energy supplier to Extra Energy, so will keep you all updated on how it goes and if I have any problems. Expecting to save around £125 per year and have fixed to Sept 2015 - every little helps!0 -
Well things have finally moved on today.
Received separate emails (one for gas & one for electric) welcoming me as new customer as of today & to submit meter readings. I then received another email later in the day confirming direct debit payments.
Just a bit annoyed I was not emailed the switch date by EE as they knew long before today the date that I was switching.
I only found out the switch date via my EDF account.
Lets hope EE don,t mess up my final bill from EDF.0
