Hello!
Sorry to hear of your horrid situation right now, but it is for the best in the long run.
If I was sat next to you right now, I would tell you to get an emergency appointment with your gp and before you go, write down on a piece of paper that you need an referral to the food bank. If you can't bring yourself to say it then give the doctor the paper. He will understand. Our local food bank is open once a week for people collecting parcels, so the sooner you get a referral the better as if yours is only open once a week you may miss this week's. The stuff from the food bank will take away a bit of your worry. And the people in the food banksarereally lovely.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

Nataliedee, I'm so sorry to hear you're in this situation. Glad that your doctor has been supportive. Maybe re. foodbanks, you could try going really early in the morning - as soon as they open? Hopefully there may not be many people there. Or you could email them beforehand and explain your worry, they may have a solution.
Also, please, please don't go for payday loans. They look great as a short term solution but the interest on them is horrendous and you will end up in debt.
Thinking of you, hope that your appointment on Friday goes as well as it can xNovuna personal finance 0% 4-year £518/£1866Credit card debt free! Now on the journey to mortgage free.0 -

I know it feels horrible to be in the situation you're in, but none of it is your fault, and you are simply sorting the mess out. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. In fact you should be applauded for doing wht you are doing, and not just effectively shutting down. The food bank folk (and your gp) won't judge you as they will understand that you just need a little help right now. Like the others have said, you can always pay the help back when you are more on your feet. I donate a couple of bags of food to my local food bank every month - I buy all basics stuff so it actually only costs me a couple of quid, but it would be worth a lot more to someone who needs the stuff in the bags. My food bank is in a local community centre, so noone would know I am going to see the food bank people when I go in. Have a look online to see where your local one is (I think a lot of them come under the Trussell Trust) and yours might be in a similar place..so you won't be going into a shop that shouts "FOOD BANK" to everyone on the street.
I would definitely do it if I was you, as it will be a bit less of a worry for you and you'll get some food for you and your son as well as some essentials too…and most of it is canned or non perishable stuff so it'll last you a while.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

Our food bank is at our local church and the volunteers are lovely, they are not there to judge you, all they want to do is to help and they also give advice on benefits and other things that you can claim for. Don't be ashamed to go there, sadly a lot of people have to use them these days
I am sure that your doctor will give you a voucher, he will be horrified that you are going without food when you are ill. What will happen to your son if anything happens to you, if you collapse or need to go into hospital, I know that you want to put him first and that is a credit to you, but you have to think of you as well x x

Please don't be ashamed to go to the food bank.
You are exactly the reason they were set up in the first place. I agree with everyone else about paying it forward. YOU are in need now and can most definitely give back in the future, whether it be time or donations.
You need to eat or you cant start to recover and feel better
You have a journey ahead of you and I wish you all the luck I can

You have a duty to your children to maintain good health so go to the food bank. Lots of us put into the trolleys at supermarkets for just this purpose. There is no shame, nor should you feel this. And with a full tummy and your childrens' happiness things will look a bit better. You could phone them and tell them of your fear of being with other people and they may just deliver things to you. Hope things look up very soon. :cool:0

nataliedee, this time last year I had a huge meltdown which forced me to admit I couldn't carry on without help. My GP, work and friends were a great help. I just felt ashamed and embarrassed because I couldn't cope any longer. I wish that I'd faced up to it much sooner. Now things are much more positive. The ex's family judged me on what happened in five minutes despite having known me for twenty years and have completely written me out of their lives (my children still see them but it's as if I never existed). I have learned that I don't need people like that in my life anyway.
When you're struggling to cope please don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help. I now try to make a point of smiling at as many people as I can every day because you never know what somebody might be having to deal with and sometimes just a smile, even from a stranger, can make the world seem a better place. Here's a smile just for youTake care x
