Definitely worth asking Nat - or stick up an advert in college when you get there - to even the local paper.

I know with sons they had loads of books like new and they were too heavy to sell on Amazon - I think they ended up dumping a lot which is such a waste - I would have loved someone to make use of them.

Try joining a local Freecycle as well Natalie, https://www.freecycle.org/

People on there ask for more than college supplies, believe me!
I have given loads away on there, and received a few bits too.
Think you can put in an area where you can pick up from, so it's not too out of your way cost wise.
Could be a bit of an adventure for you lad and you collecting something?

My DD had some sports kit which was brand new from a sport she no longer had the time to do. she didn't want to just bin it as it was expensive stuff. She put it on gumtree a mum who was a bit skint ( haven't we all been at some blessed point!!) came and very happily took it for her little son's Birthday.

My DD was so, so happy that someone was going to use it and it wouldn't be wasted. She also felt she had shared a little in making the little lad's birthday cheerful.

Go on and ask on gumtree, you don't know who you might make smile! Giving can be just as much pleasure as receiving.

Definitely ask on freecycle/gumtree. I've used both for years and have given and received loads on them…and met some new friends along the way. :)
