Without reading back I do not think it was the people who did any giving who were complaining.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

I doubt she can use the library at 1.30 am which was the time she showed as last being online when the person who sent a fiver was wondering if she got it. No offence to that user meant but I would suggest she herself could ill afford it.
I hope it's not the same person who has done this before, not nice and perhaps Andrea's post could be posted the next time a similar thread is started on this board.
I didnt see what time she had posted, as I hadnt looked too closely at her profile.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 £92.09/£150‼️Sep £/£160 Oct (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Why is everybody so cynical and judgemental? This is an online forum. She seems to have been very thankful in the past and everybody is judging her because she isn't logging in every day. Did the people who helped her do it because they genuinely wanted to help, or did they just want to feel good in their own skin and now are annoyed because they didn't get the response they expected?
I think it is plainly obvious this woman was in need. To all those who helped her, well done you. You don't need constant updates or thank yous etc... to confirm what you already know - you did a good thing that most likely changed someone's life, or at least brightened up their day, even if it is 'just' an easter egg or 'just' a card.
Some people on this board are pathetic and it disgusts me to see how people are reacting to somebody not being online enough. Get over yourselves.
I hadn't mentioned that it was me that had sent something on the thread purely for this reason - I didn't do it to get thanks. It was only when I saw others posting saying they hadn't had an acknowledgement that I felt like I should mention it.
I did mention in my post that I didn't do it to get thanked - I was going to donate anyway and just decided to donate directly to a person.0 -
Guys I hope I'm not out of order in passing comment. I've read along since this thread started and wondered how Natalie was getting along. She did mention possibly selling her phone at one point and I wonder if that's been forced on her and she has no means of posting? Whatever the reason and even if this was a scam please don't any of you feel you're in the wrong for yielding to a compassionate impulse and trying to help a fellow human being in trouble. What you all did is the best that humanity can produce and even if you were 'taken' you are such good people and deserve to be proud of yourselves, kindness is a wonderful thing and kindness to a stranger is the best kind, bless you, Lyn xxx.0

As much as other people are advising not to feel in the wrong, this sentiment is mislaid. This is based on the assumption that OP was scamming but can people please look at what she might have gained? From what I can tell, she was sent a few cards, perhaps with a token amount of money, and maybe a few little bits too. As I have already said, if she was a scammer (which I very much doubt), she certainly didn't get very much out of it!!
A shame to see so many cynical people on here, with there only evidence being a lack of posts (I haven't been posting as much recently because I am busy, and this is just an online forum) or starting to use capital letters. This isn't a soap opera for which we are trying to work out how it will end, so stop treating it like one. There are no good guys and bad guys. Just somebody in need and lots of helpful people.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I am a long time lurker and I have just sat and read this thread from start to finish, with a rather large cup of coffee! What a bunch of caring, warm-hearted and lovely people you all are.
It's such a shame that in this day and age that we tend to see the bad in things, I do hope that the OP was genuine but then that's almost like saying I hope she was in the situation that she described and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. But you all reached out to her with sound advice and kind words and that is what matters and you have offered advice that will impact on so many other people that read these desperate posts and that is worth so much more
I hope that Natalie is happy, concentrating on her son and making a better life for them both. Perhaps when things have settled done she'll hopefully pop back and give you all an update.
Please don't change and become forever cynical.0 -
Just wanted to add my two pence worth. Natalie was in an abusive relationship which could account for a lack of what some would call common courtesy. When someone has been controlled they don't usually act like the rest of us. As someone has just said, she didn't get a lot of financial gain if she was scamming. As Mrs Lurchwalker said, she may have sold her phone.
It's lovely that so many people cared. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt. Why would she have gone to so much trouble to make it all up?
Natalee if you are reading, I hope you are ok.

I sent a couple of PMs to see if she got it and no response - I would have hoped for at least a thank you especially as it wasn't just an easter egg, it was a few different easter bits plus a chocolate bar specifically for her, but I was telling myself I hadn't sent it for the thanks I would receive but to make someone else happy.
Now I'm wondering if I've also been taken for a fool.

I wish you well for the future and hope all is sorted for you and your little one and that you can be happy again, Lyn xxx.0
