I think a trip to citizens advice is in order for sure. Gayle you mentioned social services? I'm not an expert on this but I believe they're there to help (as well as the common belief that they only take ur kids away) so maybes getting them involved is not a bad thing, or they may already be involved anyway due to the OP's violent relationship that she was in? Someone surely has to be able to help her x

morning everyone ,just had a letter saying my appeal for hardship has been turned down so guess i have to wait until friday ive stilll appealed the other decision but been told that could take weeks to reach a decision
very low today feel bad as its school holidays and cant do anything with son at all ,child benefit went in today and got took in charges which the bank aRE refusing to re imburse so now im in a mess as my electric is going to go
child tax credits only go in on saturday .just want to end it all no one will help me feel like im in a never ending circle of nothingness
worrying everyday .sat up all last night and tryed everyway i could think of to get some money just to get a little elec and food but theres no way just a mess .
sorry everyone for rambling just no one else to talk to at the minute

Apply for a crisis loan. And get onto the citizens advice and ask them to get someone to help you appeal your decision re hardship

And as soon as you can if you have a prepayment meter get rid of it.

Please dont consider ending it all. Things arent great right now but it wont always be like this.

I second contacting social work and see if there's any support you can be given, you will be far from the only person going through this right now in these economic times.

hi the bank took charges due to me forgetting to cancel the tv licence direct debit spoke to tv people though and there sending me a payment card .
the social said they dont do crisis loans any more but just been googling and they do something called a short term advance so im going to try and apply for one of them.
feel alot better just getting out of the house so im feeling more possitive things could be worse
everything he had in his name at my house has been cancelled and all the right people notified that hes no longer here ,
will go into cab tommorow and try to see someone or at least get an appointment with someone
tax credits are due at the end of the week which will go to electric and gas and a bit of food .im already on prepayment meters for them .There is no social work involvement at the moment as my partner was the violent one not me and hes no longer here so no risk etc
just felt really down this morning but feel better tonight
my phone bill came today but i spoke to bt and explained everything they have given me a further 14 days before they disconnect me which i was suprised at
going to look what activitys are on this week at the local childrens centre so we can do somethings together and get us out of this house
sorry if ive missed anyones comments xx

I'm really pleased you seem in a brighter mood. Good for you. Your son needs his mam to be strong and you sound like you're doing a cracking job.

Yes CAB is the best option. I know you say no social worker is involved at the min, I'm assuming they have been in the past, so maybes they can help you now? I hope you didn't think I meant that you were the violent one, I really didn't, I meant you were in a violent relationship.

Try and cut out all the non essential bills for now and cancel them, for eg. Sky (if u have it). You don't need the added extra pressure of worrying how ur gonna pay for them. As for prepayment meters (gas n leccy) then as soon as u can get rid of them and go on a monthly budget plan (direct debit) where they look at roughly how much you n ur household would spend then they average it out over the year and you pay a monthly payment. I have one of these. It just stops the added worry that your leccy might "drop".
  • A link for you nataliedee http://www.merseysidewelfarerights.org.uk/home/4570399862 just in case CAB have long waiting list
