Just bought new, to me, car, filled up and saved over £9. That was the 20p per litre off that had to be used by the end of this month, now building up discount for next fill next month.

Tesco is my 2nd cheapest, 0.2p dearer than Asda and at least 1p cheaper than the others. I rarely managed to get the old 5p off vouchers and only fill up once a month so this works out great for me. Pay at pump knocks the pump price down so all the fuel is at the discounted price instead of just whole litres.

Just need to be careful that you don't automatically use discount by default. Did a small top up on car and was asked if I wanted to use discount, almost said yes then realise if I said yes I'd be wasting it on 10 litre not a 60 litre full tank.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Can you only use your accrued fuel save discount on one fill up?

Yes you can, that's why in our house I use it on the Disco because it has a bigger tank :)

Lucky people, this week I used a 12p p/l saving on my 17L fuel tank on my bike seeing as the car is off the road.... debt free in no time yippee!

Tesco aren't daft, I prefered the old, spend £50 and we'll give you a £5 off fuel voucher... someones obviously realized they can do it cheaper this way.

Just shopped and received the extra fuel discount and a £5 off voucher when spending over £40, can't be used on fuel purchases though.

Of course they aren't, they assume we are. ;)

However, for someone like me, who spends £20 a week in Tescos, and fills up at their garage at the same time, there is a miniscule saving where previously there was none, and as Tesco say- "Every little helps"
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

After trying it for a month now (remembering to go to T's instead of where I usually shop) I find it more of a hassle than it's worth. I never know when my £ 50 are collected and signing in is a drag and then I get different info on the receipts than on-line. If the offer was getting money off petrol for the whole month then it would be an offer.... Also, OH is registered on the same account with his card and he stole my 2 p I had saved so hard for! My verdict - not worth it unless you shop there anyway.

You may only get meaningful savings if you shop at Tesco's regularly but why is it a hassle. You get some petrol the cashier says you have xp. Would you like to use it now? Answer Yes or No.
Talk about inventing a problem where there isn't one!
