This scheme have been running for a while in Wales and I typically put £50 ish per fortnight in my Golf, I have been seeing savings of £6 most fill ups.

Its been a real good deal for me so far.

For me, this deal won't get me spending any extra at Tesco, as the relatively minor savings from the fuel will probably be outweighed by the more expensive prices in store vs other places. Probably a 'nice to have' if you're an existing customer I guess but reading the small print, not worth shopping more at Tesco, esp with a fantastic new Aldi that's just opened nearby!

In my area they have been trialing this for a few months with 1p off per liter per £20 spend. The 2p off per £50 is no way near as good :( I often spend £30-40 so I would loose out.

If you just shop there, they are no dearer than anywhere else for the total shop.

I regularly fill my basket with BOGOF and "half price" items, and they print me out a nice ticket that says I have saved 16p compared with the same shop at Asda/Sainsas/Lidle

Odd really, when I have £30 of half price stuff, surely I should be saving £30 :(

(Not that they all compare prices so they can put them up and be the same or anything...)

I noticed on Wednesday that the petrol at Tesco was a penny cheaper than normal - they are usually the most expensive supermarket in town. So I decided to fill up, and was surprised that the pump offered me a 2p/litre discount. Somewhat puzzled, I hit the Yes button and got the discount.

It looks a much better scheme for me than the deals that other supermarkets do. I don't tend to spend a lot in one shop, and so never seem to get the money off fuel vouchers. At least with the new Tesco one, you can get a few pence off just by making lots of little shops.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

There is a calculator on the Tesco website that works out what you would save by you putting in your monthly shopping cost plus how many litres you put in, and for me it worked out that I would save £3.60 a month. Wow.......

EDIT: I've just checked my clubcard account online and under the fuel save tab, its got this:

    Fuel savings valid until
    30/04/2014
    0p / litre

You can redeem each 2p until the date shown above. Each month's savings must be redeemed separately, and you can save up to 20p per litre per transaction.

That sounds to me like its a rolling monthly deal, you can only spend what you save up within the month.

Being a low mileage driver, who only fills up every 3 months but spends about £130 per week at Tesco on groceries, can I pass my savings onto my Daughter as long as she uses my clubcard. Presently have a full tank of diesel and need to use my discount of 5p per litre before the end of April. This will be an ongoing problem as long as Tesco keeps this promotion.
