LOL, I can and it won't be many :)

I take you you don't mind handing over another £10 for your flight. This site is about moneysaving, people like you make me sick.

What on earth does a prediction about the number of people Ryanair will scare off with this have to with the purpose of this site or what I'd personally mind handing over? Absolutely nothing as far as I can tell but thanks for your input nonetheless, you sound like a delightful person :)

I'm fine thanks but you offer nothing of use or help to people affected by the new charges - everyone going away for 7 days or more.

Ryanair are not cheap any more anyway for a no frills airline.

We're paying £240 for 2 return flights to Alicante out of season (May) and that's without taking any extras, or their insurance, and just hand baggage. If we check in for both flights with bog standard seats that'll make it £260.

We only use them because they fly from our local airport.

We probably won't bother with them again now.

And you do? I was posting in direct response to a comment made by someone else. Feel free to disagree with what I said but don't project opinons onto me that I never expressed just so you can act all outraged.

The amount of people they may lose, will be outweighed by the amount of people, who haven't flown with them before, due to the cattle market express image they have previously had.

Some people want everything, at the rock bottom price, Guess what Chaps you don't get it ! MSE doesn't come into it, you can moan as much as you like, but it WON'T get changed by a forum like this ! Do you think Michael O'Leary will be scared? lol

I do think he could make it a better airline though. He should make it, that you can only take on board either a very small handbag ( Clutch bag) or a small carrier bag. Everything else goes in the hold and is paid for. Then he could do away with the seat allocation and speedy boarding prices, the aircraft would be boarded quicker, as there wouldn't be a rush/hold up with people trying to lift large hand luggage into the overhead bins. If he charged for ALL luggage, there wouldn't need to be online checkin either, as there would have to be staff on desks to take the luggage. That would suit everyone then. It would also make the cabin a lot safer,as no things falling out bins, no one trying to get their bags as evacuating etc

You mean like the old days when people put suitcases in the hold? To be charged for this now then to have to wait a long time for getting the luggage at the belt cancels out any time saving in boarding the plane. Some airports are very slow in getting the bags back from the plane, some much worse than others. Plus they throw your bags around causing breakage.
  • Oh,the irony of people on here complaining about how the airline they always use isn't very good; the cheap airline they always fly is trying to charge another tenner per flight; the airline they only use because it's the only one that flies to the destination they want from their local airport; the airline they're happily willing to fly on holiday roughing it with only carry-on baggage but can't be arsed to go to their hotel reception / internet cafe for 5 minutes to check-in; the airline that has transformed cheap air travel throughout Europe; the airline that the majority of their passengers use for journeys of LESS than 7 days.

Nope,it's just not good enough. I want a scheduled not charter airline that I can use to go on my annual fortnight's holiday with as many bags as I want at a time I want, flying from my local airport to popular destinations in every country in Europe, landing at an airport a short stroll from my hotel with allocated seating, free inflight meals and nice smiley flight attendants.
And I don't want to pay more than I'll spend on a meal out and a few drinks on the first night of my holiday.

Or perhaps they could introduce an easyJet style carry-on policy, start offering free checked luggage allowance and then charge for carry-on. Like any system, it has some downsides but I've often wondered why no airline has even attempted something like this.

The airline whose profits were down last year prompting it's owner to announce he would improve his customer service...
