Will that not take the account to below £2000, if even for a short time, therefore not complying with T&C's of £2000. It would be great if I could just do a SO from one to the other, I was going to have an extra £500 going from one to the other but was thinking I could be getting interest on that some where else. First time I have tried anything like this and still a bit (very) confused!
    Thank you:)
Can somebody clarify please? Are you guys depositing £2000 in each account and transferring £500 out of the initial £2000 deposits or have you deposited an extra £500 to use for the transfers?

Many people have deposited £2,000 into each of two TSB accounts.

Then created standing orders from one to the other for £500 to transfer between the two on the same day.

    eg
Standing order for £500 from TSB account 1 to TSB account 2
    and on the same date
Standing order for £500 from TSB account 2 to TSB account 1

    No 'additional' £500 is needed.

what has just been posted is the simplest way to go about it, no need to faff about doing it any other way (unless of course you only have one tsb account) then so from an extranl into the tsb and back again, ill be logging in once per month to transfer my 2 interest payments back out to my Santander 123 account, or more likely treat myself to a takeaway courtesy of tsb - yummy

Thanks so only need £4000 for two accounts and this satisfies the conditions for the full interest. I am assuming the transfers have to be set up for the same day?

If they aren't set for the same day, then you'll end a day with £1,500 in one account and £2,500 in the other, losing potential interest on the £500 that's sat in the second account as it's over the £2,000 limit.

OK thanks for your reply - has just saved me putting in £500 that I didn't need to:D

  • Wait for the activation code, then you'll have the option.
  • I have just opened the Classic Plus Account online and it is telling me that I have opened a current account and a classic plus account. Is this usual and do I have to use the current account.
