To answer my own question, yes.

First joint account opened for the Mrs to use after her individual account application was declined.

and for the 2nd account, I log out of online banking, go back to home page, select current account, apply then down the page there is a link for a addional account, I used this, had 2nd account up and running in 5 mins, no need for a activation code for this 2nd account, and the accounts were linked automatically under the one log in id, both accounts show instantly when I re logged in

Didn't work for me - apparently I have to go to branch with ID for my second account....

Just to confirm can the £500 each month be hopped from/between 2 Plus accounts, or does it have to come from 'outside'?

    Outside account > Plus Acc1 > Plus Acc2 > Outside account?

Apparently you can set up a standing on each account to the other so you just swap £500 each month.

well! its not the case with me! i listened to you and opened my second account with another username and now ive got 2 separate accounts with two usernames! Can i somehow merge them together??

Well, I also opened a Club Lloyds, Lloyds credit card, Halifax credit card, 3x BOS Vantage and BOS credit card on Friday and all of them made me choose a new username each time (so a total of 8 new usernames...),

Today all the products now show up on my original logins. Except for BOS, to whom I am a new customer but all the products show up on Halifax website (and my halifax login no longer works on BOS website, but you can't expect everything to go smoothly)

I haven't tried to sign in with the new usernames at all, maybe that is where you went wrong

Called up to apply for gross interest and was told I have to go to the branch to do that (which is wrong anyway). The person I spoke to sounded clueless so I might call again and hope I get someone better informed.

Also don't forget to cream off your interest each month as you will not receive interest on anything over £2000.

    .

sorry to sound dumb, but what do you mean about creaming off the interest?
I do know that interest wont be paid on anything over £2000..
