Does anyone know what the different coloured cards with TSB are i have the light blue contactless but i've also seen a darker blue and another colour. This was in an earlier post from a twitter picture posted by TSB themselves Are all TSB light blue contactless cards offline ? i might make this my main account if i know i can use it on trains petrol pumps etc.

Yes, contactless payments is an added feature. Hopefully over the next few years it'll become usable in many more places but as of now I've never had a chance to use it.

TSB is one of the easiest ones because you can set-and-forget-it, really. Just have two TSB Plus accounts with £2000 in them, then set a monthly standing order from each one to the other for £500 going out on the same day. Other accounts that require the minimum monthly deposits to come from external sources are a bit more complicated.

The only other thing you might want to do is take out the interest every month and put it somewhere it'll earn interest, but this isn't vital as it'd only net you a tiny amount more over a year (unlikely to be more than £3).

I know this was said lightheartedly, but its a good idea to have a written record showing the bank/building society and account numbers of your accounts.

This could be electronic or paper, depending on your preferences and the capabilities of your husband/wife/partner/next of kin etc.

My husband only has a couple of accounts, but if I go first :o he wouldn't have a clue where my money is unless I leave him a list. My son knows the password to my up to date spreadsheet, but I also keep a paper list, as husband is likely to forget how to turn laptop on, and a password protected USB data storage device is completely beyond him :rotfl:

Are you sure you can do that, I thought they also had to be from outside accounts?

That's probably because you haven't read the account T&Cs (yet)?

    Why would you think that?

I use external accounts to transfer funds because some of my other accounts require it and it meets those requirements even if tsb don't require it.
