It's "calendar month", so it doesn't matter. But interest is paid on the first working day of the month, so any date after then.
Bear in mind that your initial deposits will satisfy the criteria for this month, so have the SOs start from May.0 -
Applied on Sunday. At the end of the application process, it told me I had been successful. Prompted me to create a user name and password, but no e-mail or SMS confirmation. Tried again today, same thing.stupendous_J wrote: »Hi Nick,
I got email confirmations straight after completing the online applications saying my current account application was successful. Have you checked your junk email folder just in case it went in there by mistake?
Also you can log in online with your user ID and password that you created straight away. If I were you, log in ASAP and check your personal details to make sure you haven't made a mistake with your email address.
No e-mails. Checked my junk folder. No SMS. I tried to log on with the user ID and password that I created on each attempt, and it tells me I have entered an invalid user ID or password. Will wait a week and see if anything comes through the post. Would be interested to know if anyone else has had the same problem.0 -

Thanks very much for that. As I thought, it was not staring me straight in the face. Haven't got an activation code yet, that would be the reason why therefore.0 -
Thanks Marks87-much appreciated!;)0

The email you get sent is just confirmation of the details you put on the application form.
As soon as I had applied online I could log in using the credentials I supplied at the time of application.
I am going to open up a second one shortly and then set up a SO for £500 between each account once a month.
After that I will just need to log in once a month to skim off the interest. Granted it wont be a huge sum but its not exactly a lot of effort to collect it in the first place.0 -
will I have to transfer £500 every month without fail?0

will I have to transfer £500 every month without fail?
YES. Easy to do by setting up standing orders to and from your TSB account (i.e. From account x -> TSB account -> back to account x)
Or as it's been mentioned earlier, if you have two TSB accounts then (From account x -> 1st TSB account -> 2nd TSB account -> back to account x).
I've just opened up a Santander 123 account (my main account) and plan to transfer / recycle £500 back and forth between this and both my TSB accounts (putting 2K in each TSB account of course :P ). Then transferring back the interest earned from the TSB accounts to my Santander 123.0 -

Thanks for the reply. The problem is I am a student and I can not afford to pay £500 a month for 12 months. Will this be a problem? I only earn £150 or so a month from my part time job.0 -

No need to transfer in and out. Just have the 2x TSB accounts send each other £500 each month to fulfil the funding requitement.
Then you just need to skim off the interest.0 -
I got my 2 accounts for me and the wife up and running with no issues, so now can anyone tell me about the joint account thing?
Can I set up one or two joint accounts? (or none?) and if so how do I apply?0
