On the subject of running two accounts, do you have to deposit £500 in each from another bank or can you deposit £500 into the 1st account, then transfer it straight across to the second?

There is nothing in the T&C which says the £500 has to come from an external account. This is also the case with TSB Classic Enhance accounts (recently withdrawn for new customers) :)

Applied on Sunday. At the end of the application process, it told me I had been successful. Prompted me to create a user name and password, but no e-mail or SMS confirmation. Tried again today, same thing.

    Hi Lisa,

Yes you have to go through the same online process / application when applying for your 2nd account. I did this for my girlfriend and myself.

I just filled out the identical details as I used for the first application. It didn't allow you to select an user ID during the 2nd application as it seems to link the accounts automatically under one user ID / log on.

Many thanks for that....I'll give it a whirl in a mo!

ETA: You were right....not prompted to enter id or password for the second account. Both sitting there waiting to be funded now :-)
It's taken me a lifetime to start looking after my money and now I'm addicted to doing it! :cool2:

    Hi Nick,

I got email confirmations straight after completing the online applications saying my current account application was successful. Have you checked your junk email folder just in case it went in there by mistake?

Also you can log in online with your user ID and password that you created straight away. If I were you, log in ASAP and check your personal details to make sure you haven't made a mistake with your email address.

Applied on line on Sunday 30th.
This is my first account with TSB.
Had an email giving me an application reference number.
48 hrs later I've called TSB to see what is taking so long and was told it could take up to 7 days to process the application.

When applying (as a new customer) on line for a First Direct account and a Virgin Fixed Rate ISA I had the account details staright away.

    Anyone experienced this?

I have had the same thing, the application said I was successful after I submitted it, it asked me to create a username and password too, but I got an email saying they are now processing the application pending approval. I'm still waiting!

Thanks Badger for the reply. I did read the T&C as well, but I guess you're right. It doesn't say we CAN'T transfer the £500 from one account to the next. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

My email response said my account was set up and ready for use (gave me sort code and account number) straight away, no waiting for application to be processed (same for my 2nd account) and both of my girlfriends account.

Maybe it depends on the info / salary details / credit rating of the individual during the application. Or it could be very busy (all those MSE users applying for accounts).

I have read the entire thread & want to confirm my understanding(new to the multi-account dealing).I open two single accounts, transfer £2K into each from 123 funding.Create standing order of £500 to cross fund each account internally on the same day.
One Question...after I have put the £2K into each account,on which date do I set up the standing orders to go through internally?.Is it after the interest has been paid?.
Many thanks in advance.....slowly slowly catchy monkey:o
