Has anyone transferred £2k / £4k already to these accounts from elsewhere?
I funded mine by internal transfer, but if you received an email confirming the account was open and ready to use, then I'd say that's good enough to go on. Check a £1 transfer gets there before sending the rest.

I have successfully opened 1 account in my name and have get internet banking up and running. I them helped my husband apply for one too using the same link. It seemed to work, but didn't give the option to set up username for internet banking, and he has not received any email confirmation. I wrote down the Acc no. for his one when it came up on the screen and now that I have checked it, it seems to be identical to mine? Any ideas what has happened here? He thinks he should just try and apply again and it mustn't have worked, but I am a bit worried about doing this. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Strange, mine was instant after opening the first. You're choosing login and not Register, I take it?

If you're certain your username and password are those you applied with (the password is 9+, letters and numbers, in case you changed it at the last minute to fulfill the requirements, and forgot the change), then you might need to call them, or wait for the documentation in the post.

If you call them wait until it's 'Officially open' online otherwise there will be confusion abound.

Yep it's the correct user name and password. Although my password was only 8 long, not 9. I didn't get an error. Also if I use the forgot password/username link it can't find any of my details so not sure what's happening. I have account numbers and sort codes. I'll try again later.

Ah I was getting confused between password and memorable word; can't remember the stipulations for password. Hope you get it sorted soon.

If you're using the same computer, then it is possible that second (and subsequent, if you want to test their two-account limit) applications are attributed to the previous application regardless of what details you enter, so they don't request login application details again. It sounds like TSB believed your applications for your husband's account was another application for yourself. Whether they let it proceed or not to a full account application is not something I've tested, but if they gave you the same account details (account numbers are very similar, so double check), then they haven't allowed it.

You might need to use a second computer, or clear your cookies or use another browser to apply as a second individual.

Oh I wasn't asked for a memorable word? I'll give them a call later. At least my accounts are opened just an online banking issue.

You select one when you log in for the first time, along with the paperless statements

    Password: I've used 8.

Memorable word: Again I've used 8

Online access established, and activation code on it's way.

PS, thanks for the link. ;)
  • I can't seem to open a 2nd account for myself from the link without having to set up a new user ID and password...I tried leaving it blank and press continue but it won't let me.

My first account opened fine and online banking works.

I tried clearing cookies and doing it again and still no help there.

    Weird.
