It may not be down to TSB though, as they would use an external data base to ID people, as do identity checks via other agencies systems to ID electronically, so its just as likely its the external system down than their own, which would be out of TSB control.0

If that was the case it should apply to all new current accounts, but it appears from what you have been told that applications for the classic account are ok. :huh:
looks like its not either, as i have just followed what suggested and states will know within 3 working days if i get the account, they may have suggested that as i am an existing customer online may allow me to bypass the need to be id'd again,
however when i applied online states i will know in three days if accepted, so called them back they since they have confirmed to me will need to still do an up-to-date credit search, which when i just called them back they advised appears to be why didn't open straight away
so it sounds like the credit search agency they use to ID&V customers and credit check is what is not working. I have just opened 2 Classic Accounts online. I have the sort codes and account numbers. There is nowhere on the site that I can find to upgrade to Plus so I shall have to wait until they send me the Internet details and then see what I have to do. I shall leave my money in a 3% account while I get this sorted!To Dare is To Do:beer:0

It's not an external system that's down since the Club Lloyds applications sail through online.
Rather embarrassing for TSB.0
