I have to go to local branch tomorrow with ID but was told it would then be opened at that stage.
    Fingers crossed there's no issues...

Clearly they were tempting fate with the Sunday launch. If the online problems aren't sorted later today I think I'll wait until tomorrow. Would be nice to look over the T&Cs before committing.

Can't be arsed with going on the phone/into branches. How 20th Century! Hope they get it on the website soon.

Yes me too. Hope I don't have to take ID into a branch. Won't be able to do that for a couple of weeks.

apparently it is something to do with the system that electronically ID's people being down. They did advise though that some customers have been able to apply for a normal classic account and when that is opened, they can add plus to it manually over the phone, its just that they have advised that they can only get as far as going through the application but the electronic ID'ing system which means that an account can be opened fully is not working (which is what they advised when i phoned just)

You can go paperless once the account shows up on Internet Banking - just change the option

You would think they would get something like that sorted before launching a major new "try before you buy" current account.

It may not be down to TSB though, as they would use an external data base to ID people, as do identity checks via other agencies systems to ID electronically, so its just as likely its the external system down than their own, which would be out of TSB control.

Fair enough. Well no point me applying today if I have to take ID in next Saturday so I'll wait to see if it's up and running in the meantime
