You were probably rejected for the second because you were logged on to TSB banking when you applied. The trick seems to be to apply when NOT logged on. This has happened to quite a few posters, including me.
Thanks, I'll wait for the switching process to complete then give it a try.

Edit: ah, that's strange. It says on their website you can apply for another Classic account online through Internet banking but for Classic Plus it just says "online".
  • Thanks, I'll wait for the switching process to complete then give it a try. It does say on the TSB website "You can apply for an additional Classic Account online through Internet Banking" though.
If I remember through the mists of time...
    • start your application for an additional account when NOT logged on
    • the "system" will recognise from your details that you are already registered and will invite you to log on
    • you log on and complete the application
    Good luck!

I think you're only correct with the 1st point.

When you apply for a second TSB Plus account (logged out), you go through the whole application without being prompted to log in. Once accepted, you can log on yourself and see the 2nd account on online banking.

    :)

Your steps are correct when it comes to applying for your 1st/2nd Tesco current account (depends on whether you already have access to Tesco's online banking).

    ;)

    Are they really?
  • Hi there

Without reading the 60 (yes 60) pages of this thread can someone tell me if the only way to open a joint account is by branch please?

I've started an online application whilst being logged on and its not giving me a single / joint option (yet).

Using google it seems to state its a branch only. Is this correct?

    Cheers as always

You can also open a joint account by phone.
  • Is it normal to not be credit checked when opening these accounts?

I've banked with tsb for two years. Opened first TSB Plus account in May, filled that and opened a second in July. Checked noodle August no search so checked experian yesterday and still no search?

No they "can't find" me and I don't really want to send them ID/Statements, pity because I could get two free reports through capital one. From what I've read on here though, TSB use experian so it should be on there?
