Just back from vets & its gone from bad to worse. Apparently her liver is failing (why she is being sick and wont eat) because she has a heart murmur. She's booked in for a scan tomorrow at 2.20 to see how bad the heart damage is and will go from there but I suspect that she will have to be put down. She clearly feels very unwell and is not herself at all. I feel incredibly sad because she is a beautiful cat in looks and temprament (not a nasty bne in her body) and I've had her for 8 years; she gave birth to her babies with me there and has a revolting habit of licking your eye lashes when you sleep!

Anyway, we're home; very tearful and making the best of what I suspect will be our last night. I think she knows, cats are (despite what non cat people say) very intuative. The bill didnt help - £200 so far (£94 for just entering the building today, before they even did anything!) and it will be at least £70 tomorrow - more if she has to be put down & cremated...more again if she has drugs for the rest of her life. and yes, I can 100% confirm that cancelling the pet insurance was the worst decision I ever made but there we go; whats done is done & I'll not make the same mistake again! Thank goodness I sold my packs and will have a good pay packet this month but its bye bye to the savings, or at least 1/2 of it...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Just a quickie to update....Macey lives another day but is at the vet on a drip with lots of tests on the way. They think it's fatty liver & all being well (though I suspect Macey wont agree!) they will tube feed her for a few days which will get her liver working again. Starving apparently makes it stop working properly...Dreading the bill as it will amount to about £500 but really have no option. Note to people reading - dont EVER cancel pet insurance - it really is NOT worth it & that particular decision goes, without a doubt, as the worst I ever made....anyway need to move on from that and at this point thank God for credit cards and what will be a good months pay due to expenses. Did an ASDA shop and did well, despite managing G&T!! Have immersed myself in crappy DVD and off to bed but thought I would update before bed in case anyone vaguely intersted!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Hi fishface,
Thanks for the update, been thinking about your cat today.bad news about the pet insurance
.Vet bills can be extortionate, we have a horse and even routine stuff costs a bomb, definately would not consider doing it without insurance:eek:
HopeMacey cat pulls through, and you cope with the extra expense involved.
Take care

Well MAcey update is I went to see madam having left early from work and she is looking alot brighter but still not great! SHe is putting up mre of a fight & more inquistive so thats good. Still got a tube in her nose and a drip in her leg and when I arrived was sitting in a very wet litter tray and very stinky. Gave her lots of cuddles and stayed an hour. Had a chat to the vet and he is still waiting to get the conclusive test result, hopefully tomorrow.
What really annoyed me was the phone call from the bank wanting to do a review. I know, I know shouldnt have fallen for it so did and surprise suprise spent ages on the phone going through stuff only to be told they wouldnt give me a CC (at a lower rate than the one i have r wouldnt have done it!) & patrinisingly being told that I really needed to get my debts down and they would reconsider! AHHHH! Wont be doing that again! Really annoyed me and just reiterated once again what a long road this is....When I have CC paid off I must look at whether it will be financially a better idea to restructure loans so that I can make overpayments on them. Right now 2014 seems like a terribly long time away (probably cos it is!)...
Thanks for support - you do just wonder sometimes when things go quiet! There are so many people about & its so fast moving it's no wonder but at times you can feel quite isolated, even on here!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! oh FF, I have just caught up on the last few days - so sorry that the cat is not well, and  at the potential cost!! Hopefully things will settle down again soon, and she will be home for the long term, at little cost.
As for the long debt journey - yup i know how you feel. I hate anything financial. And as for banks lulling you into a false sense of security, well I hate that too.
I even found myself on the "consolidation loan calculator" of my own bank today, seeing how manageable one payment would be etc etc etc. almost pressed the "apply now" button when that voice inside me said "but they will reject you anyway, so don't bother".
