fishface's diary

I'm back! New and improved but still skint! Some won't know me from before, some will so thought it a good idea to update! It's been an odd year in many ways but possibly the best in history! I can't remember when I last posted so will update generally! My granny died a year ago in Jan and she was a major influence in my life & while I didnt see her often her death had a major impact on me. I still miss her alot and part if the reason I got an allotment was to feel closer to her as she was an avid gardner. I got one and then moved a few months later for a variety of reasons.
My new plot is much more me and I love the time I spend there! Part of the reason for the slide debt wise was kitting the plot out plus being lulled into a false sence of security from money I got from granny & from a car accident and rather than putting the majority of it into debt I kitted the plot out! I wish I hadnt gone quite so wild but having said that I now have most of what I need and have a beautiful shed & greenhouse! Both of which I love & as I spend much time there it was money well spent!
I also gave up smoking I jan this year & alch at the same time knowing that a drink would lead to a fag! I won a skiing hol in Mch (thanks to the yummy dorset cereals which I will def buy in the future!) and realised recently that I have slipped & started using the CC again. Am getting back on track but have learned things from last time! I'll be a bit more measured this time & allow myself treats along the way as it is goig to be a long slog! My CC is the main thing I want to get rid of at the moment as the loans I have have been front loaded so much of the interest paid & I can't make overpayments but will check this again when CC's paid off!
Been a good DFW the last two weeks and looking at elec & gas changing (but currently having probs with Scottish power), getting stuff ready for car boot & ebay in readiness for the Olympic challenge. Have also realised that my coucil tax banding was wrong & have been rebanded and will get a nice cheque soon which will help! My CC's are currently at 0% & 4% LOB and will look at getting another 0% when this one ends, depending on credit file when it arrives! Should be ok as only problem I've had was with powergen who didnt actually tell me I owed money when I left & got a lovely final demand on Christmas eve!
Major change is 3 1/2 stone weight loss since March and possibly my biggest achievement ever because the diet is drastic! Basically you have 4 litres of water & four liquid foodpacks a day! In short, I havent eaten ANY food since 21st March & have never felt better! Still got 3 stone to go (ish!) but feeling good!! It's tough some days but I am determined to do this as FED UP with being a weeble & would rather be a size 12 instead!
So this is my diary of the up's & downs of becoming debt free! Hopefully some of "the old folk" & some new will come along to chat too!!

Its far from perfect sea (should see the weeds!!) but its (IMO) as close to heaven as you can get without actually being dead! Thanks for the welcome back!

Wel a fairly good DFW day! Most of it spent shopping! Now before people have a coronary it was DFW shopping! One of the disadvantages of loosing so much weight so fast is that I no longer have any clothes that fit! Managed to get a summer skirt for £11 in the sale but need shoes, skirt & shirt for court (in my work capacity - not for anything I've done wrong!) but gave up in the end! Got a dress but that will probably go back but a reserve in case I cant find anything cheaper. Tomorrow will go to Matalan etc to have a look. Having been a size 24 & now anything between a 14 & 18 is quite odd as I can shop almost anywhere now which leaves me feeling overwhelmed. Before I could only shop in Ann Harvey, Evans & M&S! Actually its been qute a pain as I know this time next month most stuff will be too bg & dropping off in 2 months! A nice complaint but a pain none the less! Bras & shoes are the biggest problem! Was a good girl & got the bus both ways and got nothing that wasnt in the sale. The popped in to see my friend but had to leave earlier than I would have liked as forgot my foodpack & started to feel a bit queasy which was a shame as I havent seen her for a while. Ok off to enter some comps! Had my Gas/elec pack through so thats one more thing sorted. Bills need filing - gazzilions of them (been avoiding it!) & may do this later!
Thanks for the messages above! Always encouraging to know people are reading them! This site is so fast moving its hard sometimes!!

Thanks hypno! ANother sucessfu DFW day! Managed not to spend on anything not needed and cleared out the rubbish to the tip. Looked for work clothes again but no joy in Matalan so will try Asda & Tesco tomorrow. Another day off (until Fri) so wil try to get up to the alltment as greenhouse needs watering & if at all possible need to get tidy & strimming done. May be taking on the responsibility of cleaning the compostable loo which come with perks! Went to lighterlife & lost 1 ib which seems low but last two weeks lost 5 ibs & 6ibs so cant complain (esp as this is week 15!!). £4 more in the size 12 terramundi as change was given in £2!! Aso a no speder on unecessary challenge & have sorted gas out. Task for tomorrow is get stuff phot & listed on ebay!

Well done on the continuing weight loss - brilliant. I found asda was quite good for clothes - Sainsburys too. Also New Look do some good cheaper clothes as well in a range of sizes.
