Hi River, I was completely honest too at my investigatory meeting and the disciplinary...unfortunately that and being a good employee (I had only
recently received my second promotion in two years) are not held as mitigating factors....or weren't in my case anyway!!!
I really honestly hope the results of your disciplinary are different to mine!!0

Didn't they explain the significance of the investigation and asdvise how it should be approached?
Have you informed them your going to disciplinary and to arrange representation?
When l called them, l was told no one was available to talk to me. I asked when would be convenient to call and then was told to call back if when l have a disciplinary hearing date.:rotfl:RiverStar:A0

 Thanks Shazza,
I'm really sorry about your situation and feel for you. Same as you I've gone the extra mile and trained up in my job.
I'm beginning to think if an employer wants rid, it will.
I don't want to think of nearly fve years work down the drain for something like this
Any luck so far with your appeal?
If you lose the appeal, are you considering takng it to ET?

            Hi River,
Actually got a letter re appeal yesterday. It's meant to be held a week on Tuesday....my problem is I start a 3 month temp contract on Monday and I don't think I can take a day off so soon into it (as well as losing a days money)!!! Need to think through my options as I have no hope the appeal will get me my job back and I'm aware my ex employer is simply going through the process to protect themselves.0

Did you speak to an admin worker? I wouldn't excpet that response from an officer.
 Are there stewards on site?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Oh Shazza...you're between a rock and a hard place. Is there any way you can move the appeal date and get day off? On other hand, given what your company seems to be like, you probably wouldn't want to work for them again and if you did get your job back, you will would always be walking on eggshells.:rotfl:RiverStar:A0

I'm not sure, may have been receptionist. I thought it strange she couldn't tell me when to call back. I'm going to call on Monday.
No union on site, the MD 'doesn't approve'. He has refused or stopped staff members training to be reps.
I subscribe privately to the union.:rotfl:RiverStar:A0

It doesn't matter whether he approves or not - accredited reps have a statutory right to time off work for training. 168 (2) http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1992/52/section/168
I'd also be asking questions of the union branch for not stepping in and addressing the situation asap.
Call back Mon and arrange representation from an experienced rep.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

I know what your saying. ...l know it shouldn't matter if he approves or not.
I mean when a staff member wanted to train to become a union rep for the site as we have none, he was fobbed off with excuses why he couldn't.
My 'branch' is part of a large organisation and in staff bulletins they say they consult with the union for pay rates etc. But as a stand alone part of the organisation, we don't have union representation on site.
I'm definitely going.to call Monday and keep calling till l get someone to talk to.:rotfl:RiverStar:A0
