So far, do you think this is following proer procedure as to who handles things?

I would not be content with this especially if non involved managers are available.

I'd also be setting my sights on contamination of process.

Is there a union recognised on-site?

Agree with ohreally, but for the time being I personally would not recommend pointing out the possible mistakes in conducting the process to your employer.

Good luck tomorrow. Hope it is all a mere misunderstanding. If not ... you know where we are.

Hi all, thanks for your patience. I had the meeting today.
I was asked same questions as before and then asked if l sent inappropriate material by email. I said no. But I'll be honest and believe me no one has beat themselves up as much as l have over this.

My hobby is writing stories... yes sexy stories, and what have l done...yes I sent the stories to myself at work to edit and then sent them back to myself.

I really didn't think l was doing anything wrong as l was emailing myself and it was during an unpaid break.

I accept responsibility for my actions although they haven't actually shown me anything yet but it is going to disciplinary panel, so l'll admit this and hope that the mitigating circumstances ie me being otherwise good employee, will go in my favour.

It was stupid and naive of me to do it so please don't bash me. I've gave myself a hard time and felt embarrassed too, that why l pmed Philanthropist first for advice.

You guys have been really supportive and l wanted to let you know how it went.

I won't be doing anything like that again anyway, lesson learned.

If they've informed you they intend to proceed to a disciplinary hearing then they have likely taken this decision ahead of the investigatory (going on timescales).

They have then used the investigation to go on a fishing expedition with you to build their case against you - did you take advice prior to the hearing?

As for you being a good employee - be careful, that may be your opinon as opposed to mitigation.

I hope whoever is advising you on your case statement is sound.

    Good luck with this one.

    Hi ohreally
You may be right re the 'fishing expedition'. As this seemed to start with emails to my partner.
Prior to the hearing, l took advice from members on here.
I am in a union but they told me to call back when l have disciplinary hearing date.
The questions asked at yesterday's meeting were closed ie have you ever sent anything derogatory etc. I answered no. Because l don't know what exactly what they are referring to.

If they had asked and showed me something that l did send, l would've said yes that's my own private email address. I was sending to myself.

Didn't they explain the significance of the investigation and asdvise how it should be approached?

Have you informed them your going to disciplinary and to arrange representation?
